11 Iconic Lizzie McGuire Style Moments That Scream Early '00s

The year was 2001 - it was an era of shopping at Limited Too, wearing butterfly hair clips, and rocking tie-dye shirts on the daily. Disney had just released its latest show, Lizzie McGuire, which was about a shy and clumsy preteen dealing with everyday problems from crushes to mean girls at school. Hilary Duff, who played the iconic Disney character, made her mark on the small screen and influenced many wardrobes with her quirky, often-mismatched outfits. One might even argue that some of these style moments are still relevant today. From what we've seen so far, the show's reboot also seems to have an array of fashionable outfits!

On the show, Lizzie wore everything from a ruffled top paired with low-slung jeans and a wide belt to a velvet top paired with floral-print pants. If I'm being honest, she was the reason I spent most of my adolescent years styling my outfits with matching bandanas and choker necklaces. Even her best friend on the show, Miranda, was often seen wearing matching outfits with Lizzie. Let's take a look down memory lane to see some of the show's best fashion moments, shall we?

10 Little Ways Your Favorite Bloggers Are Dressing Up Their Pajamas at Home

In a time where working from home and social distancing are the new norm, I find myself switching out of one cozy PJ set during the day into another one during the night. Of course, if I have to hop onto a Google hangout for a work meeting, you'll find me in a sweatsuit, which is so different, I know. While dressing up in actual clothes is now a distant memory for me, I have noticed a ton of others embracing the pajama set life as well. They've been styling their sets with fun accessories like tie-dye socks, hair clips, and even cowboy boots.

Depending on how dressed up you want to get, there are many ways you can style your favorite pajamas. For example, Cindy Kimberly styled her light pink, lace set with a pair of hair clips that look like they're straight out of the early '90s. Aimee Song took a silk Oscar de la Renta pajama top and styled it with a pair of linen trousers for a more put-together look. Keep reading to take a look and shop some selects if you're feeling inspired.

The lightweight fabric makes them a great undergarment pick while hanging out at home, too. Nobody wants to wear a bulky outfit on the couch.

Basically, they're the best undergarment invention ever. We rounded up our favorite options at affordable prices so you can test-drive a few. Take a peek at these lovely little things.

3 Re-Commerce Sites on How They're Handling Buying and Selling During the Coronavirus

Cleaning out your closet is one of the most productive and mind-busying activities you can do amid the coronavirus pandemic, and many indeed are. As a result, piles of used clothing and accessories are mounting. But the big question: Can you sell used items during the spread of the coronavirus? With non-essential services shutting down nationwide, it would seem as though operations at re-commerce sites The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective, and Fashionphile would, too. But in fact, they're staying open, though their day-to-day business operations are shifting to comply with social distancing regulations. Furthermore, if you're the type to shop vintage and secondhand and want to support your favorite re-commerce sites right now, you might be wondering if it's safe to buy from these sites. The short answer? Yes. But we'll dive into this a bit deeper ahead.

Keep scrolling ahead for more on how The RealReal, Vestiaire Collective, and Fashionphile are handling buying and selling used clothing and accessories during the coronavirus pandemic. If you haven't already cleaned out your closet, may we suggest doing so with friends to make it more fun?

My Friends Helped Me Virtually Clean Out My Closet, and Man Was It Productive

The POPSUGAR Fashion team has been trying to find productive ways to acknowledge our closets and the fashion industry as a whole during the lockdown. Whether it's using clothes to boost our mood or reporting on the WFH #OOTDs we wish we were wearing, we haven't gone cold turkey and tuned out our sense of style. In trying to brainstorm activities, I thought of the scene in Sex and the City where Carrie cleans out her closet in preparation of her move-in with Big. Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda come over with a bottle of
Champagne as Carrie puts on a little fashion show, begging the question with each of her looks: toss or keep?

While I could have cleaned out my closet all by my lonesome, I figured I'd get the team involved and stage a similar scenario over video chat, minus the Champagne and plus the cold brew. It turned out to be really easy: I got dressed in the pieces I was considering getting rid of and asked Director of Fashion and Shop Hannah, Style Director Dana, and fellow Fashion Editor Laura to write "toss" and "keep" on either side of a piece of paper. I really appreciated that they were all down to dive into details with me, elaborating on the reasons why they suggested I donate an item or hang onto it a little longer. They even offered me ideas for how to repurpose my looks.

I'm sure you've got a group of friends with some time on their hands who'd do the same for you. Scroll down to see how my own experiment played out and then get in on the fun and clean out your own digs.

Here's What It's Like to Try on a Virtual Wedding Dress, Straight From a Bride-to-Be

Brides-to-be planning their wedding day are forced to make some critical decisions in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. If their ceremonies are scheduled for the coming months, will they push back their dates or cancel the party altogether, being that social gatherings are restricted for the foreseeable future? Will they delay their honeymoons, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and showers? And what the heck are they going to do about that wedding dress that's in the works - or maybe not even decided on at all?

Bridal industry leaders and fashion designers are pushing for virtual experiences in order to offer their brides service during the pandemic. Brandon Maxwell donated three wedding dresses to brides in need. Jewelry company Mociun is working with couples to solidify engagement ring and wedding band designs via FaceTime. Meredith Stoecklein, founder of LEIN Studio, is offering virtual consultations for brides going the bespoke route, where she shares sketches and mood boards, even sending fabric swatches and trims to brides at home. Labels like Amsale, Azazie, and Adrianna Papell are also following suit with their "try-before-you-buy" options, including virtual showrooms where brides can shop online with their bridal party and dress samples sent directly to brides at home for consideration.

I'm in the midst of my own wedding planning process, and while my date is set for 2021, vendor calendars are now filling up quickly as people push back their reception dates. I've spent a lot of my off-duty lockdown time researching florists and band/DJ companies, fully aware that couples are rescheduling their Spring/Summer 2020 weddings for the following year. Figuring I should probably think about trying on some more wedding dresses, I followed up with Amsale to get a better sense of what a virtual try-on experience would be like.

Currently, Amsale offers the virtual option for bridesmaid gowns and the "little white dress" collection. The brand is set on launching the virtual technology across the full site, giving users the option to upload a photo and try on a bridal gown. But, if a bride chooses to be led in the process by a stylist, it's possible to reach out for a Zoom appointment - and that's exactly what I did. I submitted an awkward selfie to the Amsale team and sat back to relax as Margo LaFontaine, Design Director of Amsale, took me through our Zoom conference call, helping me (virtually) try on one dress at a time. It was easy for me to decide which silhouette looked best on my figure thanks to a tech window just like the one you see above.

Afterwards, Amsale connected me with one of the brand's customers, a woman named Uche Nwosu, who used the virtual service to find her dream dress. Uche carried out her little white dress journey from start to finish, and let's just say I can only hope to fare half as well as she did. Scroll down to see how her dress looked IRL once she received it and learn more about the approach Amsale takes to help brides virtually. One thing's for sure: tech is now more important than ever in the bridal industry.

Casual Jeans and Heels Made Me Feel Sexy on "Date Night" at Home

Even though I am a fashion person and I love styling outfits, with nowhere to go and no people to see, I shunned my closet and started living out of my sweats drawer. The minute I found out we'd be on lockdown due to the spread of the coronavirus, my heeled booties and pumps started collecting dust. Seriously, I think it started happeing instantly. Save for one day, all of my "outfits," if you can even call them that, were mismatched, each piece selected for the sole purpose of comfort. I think my future husband and lockdown partner, Joey, fully expected this, if he even expected anything at all. He, too, has been wearing the same pajama pants and t-shirts. I can't even remember what he looks like in a suit, his typical daily uniform. My cat, I think, is the most confused. Part of our regularly scheduled programming in the morning involves her staring up at me from the bed as I try on different looks before pouring her a cup of "nummies" and heading out the door.

Dressing up had started to feel like an indulgence that I wasn't ready to allow myself.

So when I decided to dress up for lockdown "date night" this weekend, I had to warn the crew. I warned them on Wednesday. Also, we had to plan something to do. We settled on a game of Rummy 500, wine, and takeout to support a local business. (The cat would have her favorite flavor of Fancy Feast pâté.) I had to try to remember how much time I needed to get ready. I even went so far as to shrug on my robe after stepping out of the shower, which makes me feel a little sexier while blow-drying my hair than if I had opted for sweats.

Even though I was excited to unwind and also do things that make me feel beautiful, I almost felt guilty instilling a sense of normalcy to my Saturday night. Was this, like, OK? Could I swipe on a red lip, get kind of tipsy without feeling bad about it, and maybe even have sex? Part of me still doesn't feel right about enjoying myself, not while people are getting sick and others are being socially irresponsible in their lack of social distancing. I feel the same sense of shame that I'm sure many other Americans do right now. Dressing up - and everything that goes with it - has started to feel like an indulgence that I wasn't ready to allow myself.

While I considered it, I didn't end up putting on a fancy silk slip or anything of that nature. I'm also a firm believer in dressing for the occasion. It just sort of helps me divide my closet into sections as I reserve certain pieces for certain places. I figured that a night of cards called for my favorite dark-wash Levi's and the old vintage belt I separated from its floral dress. My favorite graphic shirts are those with their own sense of irony and wit, hence the muscle tee that reads "Poolside." I added some gold necklaces, hoop earrings, my engagement ring, and black kitten-heel pumps from Charles & Keith.

I couldn't remember the last time I'd looked in the mirror and thought, "This outfit is so me," but it was happening! The fashion girl in me did still exist. I was sure to acknowledge all the usual quirks - seeing to it that my longer and shorter necklaces came to the perfect lengths and refastening them until they did. That sort of thing usually bothers me and elicits a loud, frustrated sigh. "What happened?" Joey would shout from the living room in the middle of his video game at 7:56 p.m. when we were supposed to be at the restaurant to meet our friends at 8 p.m. I'd be rushing. Stupid necklaces. But this Saturday night, I was gentle with my jewelry and thoughtful about which necklaces I put on - my hammered gold coin pendant and the chain with the "J" charm for Joey. It felt really romantic.

When I emerged from the bedroom, Joey definitely did a double take. It made me realize two things: 1. I felt sexy, and 2. I should probably put on makeup more often so he gets used to the way I will look walking down the aisle on our wedding day and doesn't run away shouting, "I don't know this person." I loved my outfit because it really spoke to my sense of personal style, which is apparently still the same two lockdown weeks in - a little sporty, a little eccentric, a little colorful. I loved my outfit so much that I stayed in it until 11:30 p.m. when the post-poke-bowl munchies hit and I needed an elastic waistband to embrace the ice cream sundae I was about to make. As I sat there on the couch in sweats, looking down at my bowl of mint chocolate chip, I felt glad it wasn't the only thing I'd made that night. I also made an outfit. Yeah, that feels like me.

I'm Only Interested in Chic Stay-at-Home Clothes - This Is What I'm Buying From Zara

Lots of our favorite looks only feel right when we can wear them out for everyone to see, but nonetheless, I've devoted a small portion of my wardrobe to items I've never planned on wearing out of the house. (I think we're calling them inside clothes.) There's a distinct pleasure in dressing only to suit the microclimate of your home, where one doesn't need to think about outerwear, or shoes, or, well, anything too functional. So, if Katie Holmes's internet-famous bralette-and-cardigan moment never struck you as practical clothing for your regular life, maybe it's just the thing to perk up your #StayHome look.

Since Katie first debuted the look, the trend has spilled into the market, giving us iterations to test-drive in our own homes. I've worn the look with jeans, but will admit that throwing it on as an alternative to my typical loungewear (read: sweatshirt and sweatpants) has provided the mood-boosting effects I was seeking in getting dressed, without committing to full-on clothes. It's the happy compromise, if you will. It's trend-forward, sure, but it's cozy and comfy and looks especially cute styled with knit shorts and socks for hanging on the couch, a stay-at-home date night, or day spent working from bed. Plus, when it's time to meet your pals in person again, you might just be ready to take the trend to the street, and be glad you have a cute cardigan - instead of a lineup of worn sweatshirts - on hand.

I'm a Total Homebody and Highly Recommend These Comfy Pieces From Small Brands

There's a meme going around the Internet that asks what quarantine-ers in jeans are trying to prove. I wonder the same thing. Sure, I have several pairs of jeans that are plenty comfortable, but when I'm at home, they're the last thing I want to put on. Give me all the comfy clothes! Whether it's a sweatsuit, activewear set, or oversized shirt, for me, at-home outfits are all about soft or stretchy fabrics, slouchy fits, and billowing shapes.

I naturally spend a lot of time at home (yes, I'm a Cancer and a total homebody), thus making me quite the expert when it comes to "comfies" or "house clothes" as I often refer to them. These are pieces I exclusively wear at home, save for a quick walk around the block with my dog. Whether it's an in-between look I change into post morning workout and pre a "real" outfit, an ensemble I spend the day in when working from home, or pieces I throw on for an evening of cooking and watching TV on the couch, I know my way around comfy attire.

I like to mix it up depending on what I'm doing, but of course, my mood dictates my choices, too. If I have a videoconference, I'm all about an oversized shirt or cute sweater with a pair of joggers or knitted pants. Other days, I revel a cute activewear set. It puts me in a great mood, and for some reason, high-waisted spandex really puts me in the zone both when I'm working or tidying my apartment. I love the feel of a sweater-and-leggings combo or cute sweats when I'm lounging on my couch with a glass of wine. If I'm in the presence of company (virtual or IRL), I'll level up with a sweater dress or a cozy tee-and-skirt pairing. If I'm cleaning or cooking, I often reach for a tank top, tee, or oversized polo with loose-fitting shorts. For those "in-between" outfits, like for when I'm getting ready, I love a cute PJ set, especially a short or tank version if I'm running warm. I even enjoy a nightgown! Usually a cotton or linen style in the summer.

And there you have it! All the comfy things I like to wear around my house. Even better, I've shopped out a ton of cozy options from small or independent brands I love. No matter your aesthetic or cozy preferences, I'm confident you'll find a new piece or two that's well worth adding to your at-home wardrobe.

I'm Wearing Pajama Sets 7 Days a Week, and This Loft Pick (For 40% Off!) Is My Favorite

Didn't you hear? Pajama sets are all the rage in home offices everywhere. OK, in mine it is, at least. You don't have to wear the same pair of grungy sweats every day. I love wearing a head-to-toe PJ look because it makes me feel matchy-matchy without sacrificing style. My current favorite is this Loft Silky Pajama Set ($48, originally $80) - it's on sale! The silky material feels so luxurious, and I have no shame wearing it for video conferences. Yes, I'm that girl.

This set comes in sizes XXS-XXL and is eligible for free shipping. My pair fits true to size. I love the rounded collar on the top and contrasting blue edges on the pants. They're machine washable, so don't stress about hang drying. Honestly, these pajamas feel like they should be crazy expensive, so I'm excited they're discounted.

Read on to get a closer look at this design on me, as well as some shopping details. Don't you love when comfy and cute join forces?

I'm Wearing Loungewear on Rotation These Days, and There's a Ton on Sale at Old Navy

I notice a huge difference in both my productivity and mood when I wake up in the morning and change into a cute loungewear set versus whatever t-shirt and sweats I reach for. And as someone who's been working from home full-time since January, I have a lot of personal data to back up this claim of mine.

Wearing cute loungewear at home feels like I'm ready for the day, and sometimes even inspires me to throw on bright earrings and do my makeup while I'm enjoying my morning coffee. If you're feeling like you could use a healthy boost of new loungewear for your lifestyle, you'll be happy to know it's all on sale right now at Old Navy. Here are my top picks.

The 7 Most Stylish PJ Movie Moments, According to Me and My Sleepy Self

When I'm not getting dressed in order to improve my mood during this social distancing, I'm in PJs - what else? Part of my fashion research during this downtime has been to test the waters when it comes to channeling my inner boudoir queen, this being a trend we're going to see on the streets once we go back outside, anyway. Silk slips, dreamy prairie dresses and tops, and slipper-inspired mules are all high on my spring 2020 shopping list right now, and I don't think it's just because I'm sleepy. I'm sure the designers who sent romantic loungewear down their runways would agree.

Of course, I take influence from some of the best films with stylish sleepover moments, too, and I traced these as far back as the late 1970s - I couldn't leave out Rizzo's iconic "Sandra Dee" moment in Grease - late '90s, and early 2000s. From oversize menswear to silk slips and sleep masks (Jenna Rink did the combination best with a trench coat and heels, bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase "I woke up like this"), I'm counting down the best pajama moments from the big screen. Scroll through to see my favorite scenes, and let me know if I missed any good ones that'd be great to re-create right about now.

My First Springtime Outfit Will Be Sloane Peterson's From Ferris Bueller's Day Off

"Want to watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off?" my SO asked me while we were cooking dinner on night 10 of our self-isolation. "Where did that idea come from, and hell yes!" I immediately replied. Turns out, the 1986 John Hughes film is streaming on Netflix, and that sparked his suggestion, so he's not as brilliant as you initially suspected. Being a big fan of Dirty Dancing and Baby's style, I was always excited to watch Jennifer Grey in another movie, but for this viewing of Ferris Bueller's Day Off (which also felt appropriate since a lot of people are JC and WFH right now), my eyes were glued to Sloane Peterson, played by Mia Sara.

My coworker Laura recently wrote about her love of the Bermuda-shorts-and-boots street style trend, which we spotted almost everywhere this past Fashion Week season. In theory, the combination seems improbable and awkward, but given the right proportions - which Sloane proves to be loose-fitting, tailored shorts and midrise, slouchy boots - it can look so darn cool, and it's actually simple to pull off. I feel personally inclined to try out this boho style à la Sloane with a fringed jacket, a Western belt, and a lightweight crossbody bag. Maybe I won't be spending the day in this outfit around the house (or maybe I will?), but if there's one springtime look I'm planning to debut first, it's Sloane's. Scroll through to join the pack on this "day off," won't you?

Mindy Kaling Is Having a Lot of Fun With Her WFH Outfits, and We Wouldn't Except Anything Less

Mindy Kaling is making the most of her work from home situation. While we are all practicing social distancing, Mindy tried to lighten the mood by showing us her colorful work from home looks. While some people, like myself, have been living in sweatpants and hoodies, others, like Mindy, have been dressing up and taking the looks to Instagram. I also love that Mindy has been adding a bit of humor to her #OOTD posts, which is something we could all use right now. Much like her street style, Mindy's outfits have been preppy, playful, and full of fun prints.

So far, Mindy has posted a picture of herself in her backyard wearing a pair of colorful striped pajamas with sunglasses, UGG boots for comfort, and a bright yellow Chanel bag for a bit of glamour. She captioned the photo, "When pajamas become 'outdoor clothes.'" She also posed on her couch wearing a floral Tory Burch dress and Rachel Roy heels while holding a mimosa in one hand. Her whimsical outfits bring a smile to my face and have encouraged me to dress up a bit more while working from home. Keep reading to see all of her whimsical outfits ahead.

Crocs Is Donating Free Shoes to Healthcare Workers on the Frontlines of the COVID-19 Crisis

We love to see so many fashion brands giving back during the coronavirus crisis we're living through, and footwear brand Crocs is one of those key companies, offering healthcare workers free shoes through its COVID-19: "A Free Pair for Healthcare" program. Crocs is allowing US workers to select from the Classic and Crocs at Work collections to find a pair online. They will continue to be sent with zero charge on shipping until the daily limit is reached. Each day at 12 p.m. ET, Crocs reopens the request form. Crocs President and CEO Andrew Rees commented on the helpful initiative:

"Like everyone, we've been closely monitoring the news and working hard to map out a way to most effectively help where we can. Over the past week, we have spoken to healthcare workers, their facilities and even their family and friends, and they have specifically asked for our shoes in an effort to provide ease on their feet, as well as ease of mind as they need the ability to easily clean up before they go home to their families . . . The healthcare industry has always embraced Crocs, but our mantra of 'be comfortable in your own shoes' applies now more than ever, and we want to do more to help our nation's heroes."

Crocs has also posted about the steps it's taking to help out on Instagram, sharing photos and videos of doctors repping the brand at this crucial time. It's safe to say that there's no better time to rep a footwear company with such a supportive conscience. In addition to the program, Crocs has also committed to donating 100,000 shoes to facilities including but not limited to: Jobs Ohio and the Dayton Area Hospital Association, St. Anthony North Health Campus in Denver, Atlantic Health System, and the SONSIEL organization.
