Aurora James Calls on Corporations to Buy 15% of Products From Black-Owned Businesses

Amid nationwide protests in response to the death of George Floyd, designer Aurora James of Brother Vellies issued a powerful call to action, asking major corporations to support Black-owned businesses with a 15 percent pledge. Aurora shared her plea on Instagram on Saturday night, specifically directed toward Target, Whole Foods, MedMen, Net-a-Porter, Home Depot, Sephora, Barnes & Noble, and Saks Fifth Avenue. The first slide of her post is a handwritten message: "OK, here's one thing you can do for us . . ."

"So many of your businesses are built on Black spending power," she wrote in the following slides and in the post's caption. "So many of your stores are set up in Black communities. So many of your sponsored posts are seen on Black feeds. This is the least you can do for us. We represent 15% of the population and we need to represent 15% of your shelf space."

"We represent 15% of the population and we need to represent 15% of your shelf space."

Aurora used Whole Foods as an example, and explained its commitment would send support back to Black farmers from every level: they'd be legitimized in the eyes of banks and investors, and small businesses would have more opportunity for growth. "Real investment will start happening in Black businesses which will subsequently be paid forward into our Black communities," she wrote.

As a businesswoman, Aurora understands the complexities of this challenge. "I have sold millions of dollars of product over the years at a business I started with $3500 at a flea market. So I am telling you we can get this figured out. This is an opportunity. It is your opportunity to get in the right side of this."

She added: "I will get texts that this is crazy. I will get phone calls that this is too direct, too big of an ask, too this, too that. But I don't think it's too anything, in fact I think it's just a start. You want to be an ally? This is what I'm asking for."

Old Navy's $35 Stretchy Striped Blazer Is Finally Back in Stock - See How Women Are Wearing It

Classic Breton stripes are always a good idea. The simple sailor-like striped pattern looks adorable on T-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, and even blazers, and right now, Old Navy has a perennial bestseller that we're making room for in our closet. It's made of a soft ponte-knit rayon and nylon blend with some added stretch, which means you can scrunch up the sleeves to your heart's content without sacrificing comfort. (We hate when blazers are too stiff to even roll up the sleeves.)

The Pinstriped Ponte-Knit Blazer ($38, originally $45) blazer is easy to incorporate into any existing wardrobe. You can throw it on over jeans and a simple white T-shirt or even an everyday dress. The blazer has been a bestseller and routinely sells out, but it's back in stock right now, so don't delay! We're all about simple outfit upgrades, and this one is a smart buy. See how other women wear striped blazers if you need some styling inspiration.

Lady Gaga Was Pulled Over by Tiffany's Security After the Oscars . . . on Her Way to Taco Bell

On a night when she was wearing a 128-carat diamond, Lady Gaga has never been so relatable! Fresh off the release of her exceptional studio album Chromatica, the powerhouse entertainer stopped by for a virtual appearance on The Graham Norton Show, where she spoke about the fateful evening of the 2019 Oscars. Not only did she win the award for best original song with "Shallow," but she also wore the insane Tiffany & Co. necklace that was last worn by Audrey Hepburn during a photo shoot for Breakfast at Tiffany's.

During her interview, Gaga revealed that wearing that necklace came with some intense security and a hilarious interaction outside Taco Bell. "I leave with the diamond on, and I didn't tell anyone, and Tiffany's started freaking out," Gaga recalled, sharing that she went to hang out with Madonna. "And then I left, and I really wanted to go to Taco Bell, and then all of the sudden the car got pulled over by Tiffany's security, and it was very politely removed from my neck." Watch the interview above, and know that even Lady Gaga agrees all good nights should end at Taco Bell.

Proof That Crop Tops Are For Everyone, and the Outfit Options Are Endless

Crop tops are a funny thing - always there, always in style, but popular in different iterations each and every season. Even still, we don't like to get rid of them because there are countless ways to wear them: over t-shirts, under oversize blazers, as part of a co-ord set, with high-rise denim, and the list goes on.

Figuring out which type of crop top is best for your body type is key, and we have plenty of tips surrounding the matter at hand. We sourced some of our favorite street style stars - women with all different body types - to uncover some really strong, fashionable moments in crop tops and explain to you why they work, especially as the heart of the entire outfit at play.

These $38 Comfy Biker Shorts Are the Best Investment I've Made For Summer So Far

Biker shorts seem to be a dime a dozen these days, so how do you find the best ones? Well I went on a mission to find out. I started this shopping journey because as I'm staying at home I've been mostly rocking sweatpants and leggings. As the weather warms, and my small apartment doesn't have air conditioning, I'm trying to stay cool. A pair of comfy biker seems like the right way to go; something I can mix and match with anything around my house and rock outside, too.

After searching endlessly on the internet, I found nothing that was fitting my bill. I wanted a design that didn't feel like workout clothes and was breathable. Eventually, I came across the Yummie Mel Cotton Stretch Shaping Biker Shorts ($38) and they sold me for a few reasons. Not only are they made from breathable cotton, but they're also a flattering choice. The shorts feature a two-ply signature waistband that help to hold you in and control your mid-section. This makes me feel more secure than ever. But the one thing that makes my favorite is that they're just so comfortable.

The brand designed these shorts after its bestselling leggings. Made to slim your hips and keep you feeling your best, you just can't go wrong with this affordable option. I find myself wearing them all day around the house, on walks outside, and running errands. If you've been on the hunt for your next pair, these are the ones to try. 3 Jewelry Designers Share Their Creative Tips For Organizing Your Jewelry

There are many methods of jewelry organization, and like with your style preferences, your organizational choices might range from classic to creative and even teeter into experimental territory. Of course, there are traditional ways to organize jewelry like a good old jewelry box fitted with hooks, drawers, and compartments to keep your precious pieces tidy and safe. Similarly, small bowls, stands, and surfaces like a marble slab or wooden shelf are great for storing jewels. Then, there are forms of jewelry storage that go beyond a jewelry box or bowl. If you're a jewelry fanatic, you're likely the proud owner of more earrings, rings, and necklaces than you can count. Which means your storage methods might extend into other areas of your home, becoming one with your decor. We're here for it! The most important part of jewelry organization is ensuring your pieces are safe, free of knots and tangles, and ideally protected enough to keep them clean and avoid tarnish. At the same time, it's fun to think outside the jewelry box and figure out ways in which you can store your jewelry so you can easily see everything and rotate through all of your beautiful pieces.

Ahead, we've tapped a few pros, jewelry designers Maya Brenner, Anna Sheffield, and Eric Sachse of Eriness jewelry, who have plenty of organizational tips, including ideas for storing your jewelry when traveling. Read on for all their takes.

Excuse Me as I Fangirl Over Dua Lipa's Dreamy Tie-Dye Sweatshirt and Bright-Pink Hair

Dua Lipa has hopped onto the tie-dye bandwagon with her latest outfit, and I'm all about it. While doing a promo for her album at home in London, Dua posted a series of three photos while wearing a cool tie-dye sweatshirt by Madhappy. The Los Angeles-based brand is all about promoting optimism and helps give a platform to mental health. How awesome is that? The singer's crewneck sweatshirt, which is sadly not in stock, is made out of a soft felt material.

The tie-dye swirl on Dua's colorful sweatshirt features an array of rainbow hues ranging from baby blue to bright pink. On the last slide of her Instagram post, I noticed that her sweatshirt had the brand's name, Madhappy, written in pink cursive on one side. I love that the sweatshirt's colors made her bright, cherry-pink hair pop more. Since isolating with boyfriend Anwar Hadid, Dua has switched up her hair color multiple times and even had Anwar help. Cute, right? Keep reading to get a closer look at her trippy sweatshirt, then shop similar versions of her tie-dye look if you're currently in the market for a cozy new sweatshirt, too.

Model Romee Strijd Just Gave Every Expecting Mother a Reason to Invest in a Cutout Dress

Supermodel Romee Strijd, who probably looks familiar because you've seen her on runways for Victoria's Secret, Givenchy, and Alexander Wang, announced her first pregnancy on Instagram. Romee penned a thoughtful and empowering message about her journey to becoming a mom and her challenging experience after being diagnosed with PCOS two years ago. Alongside Romee's candid note and honest account of her changing lifestyle comes some seriously bold maternity style, starting with the cutout dress she's wearing.

The Cult Gaia Serita, which comes in a comfortable woven knit fabric with a seriously sexy cutout that frames the waist, happens to be a celebrity favorite number worn by the likes of fellow former VS models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Candice Swanepoel. Romee isn't the only one wearing it to proudly show off her growing bump either - other moms are, too!

The Serita retails for $458, and because it's such a popular silhouette, we wouldn't be surprised if it sells out for the summer months ahead. If you really love it and are inspired by Romee's look (we don't blame you!), we shopped out similar dresses that are just as impactful. Whether or not you're expecting, you can certainly make your own moment in them. Kudos to you if you can glow just as bright as Strijd, who we're sending the very best wishes to.

The Easy 2-Piece Outfit to Try If You're Ready to Wear Jeans Again

There's something so badass about styling a muscle T-shirt with denim. While some in the past have assumed that muscle tees are reserved for rock stars and bikers, we're here to tell you that this retro staple has gotten a fashion-forward makeover that's effortless. One NYC-based brand that has brought muscle tees back to the forefront is Frankie Shop. Its Eva T-shirt has garnered a cult-like following; at the moment, I can't open Instagram without seeing someone wearing the favorite shoulder-padded muscle tee. The brand even expanded its color range and now has a limited edition yellow style with Camille Charriere that's so bright, it will instantly cheer you up.

Whether you're a minimalist or a maximalist, there are plenty of ways this outfit combo can work for you. You can go for a full white-out look with white jeans and a matching muscle tee or style a yellow version with tie-dye jeans for a pop of color. Keep reading to see how some of our style stars have outfitted theirs ahead. The singer recently posted a series of romantic Instagram photos with her new beau, and while I am all about their budding romance, I also can't stop thinking about how badly I need Demi's swimsuit.

The sweetheart neckline coupled with ruching made for a flattering yet sexy one-piece suit, which is exactly what I'm looking for in my summer wardrobe. Cara Delevingne Is Releasing a Pride Collection With Puma, and Everything Is Under $50

It's safe to say I trust Cara Delevingne when it comes to style, so if she's sporting a chic 'fit, I'm definitely in. Case in point: the oversized hoodies and T-shirts she's wearing in her campaign images for Puma's newest launch, From Puma With Love. Cara, who's an LGBTQ+ activist, collaborated with Puma to create a 13-piece capsule collection to celebrate Pride Month.

The affordable pack features a fun waist bag, rainbow slides, and an assortment of colorful tees and hoodies that you can wear to support Pride Month and long after - and everything is priced between $20 and $45. But that's not the best part. . . Puma is donating 20 percent of the collection's proceeds to The Cara Delevingne Foundation, a part of the Giving Back Fund that supports LGBTQ+ charities including GLAAD, The Trevor Project, and Mind Out.

You can shop the majority of the collection on Puma.com starting June 1, with the exception of the slides, which will drop on June 28th. Check out all 13 pieces, plus Cara's gorgeous campaign photos, below.

I've Tested 50+ Bodysuits, and This One Is the Most Flattering and Versatile by Far

Finding a flattering bodysuit is as hard as discovering the perfect pair of jeans - it takes lots of trying on. As a shopping editor, I have tested at least 50 bodysuits and have a strict criteria for what makes one great. I have several requirements:

  • It needs to be smoothing and supportive. I don't want to feel like I'm stuffed in it.
  • When I wear it with jeans and skirts, it shouldn't look awkward or unflattering.
  • It must be comfortable. The whole point of a bodysuit is that I don't want to worry about constant adjustments.
  • For bonus points: it's versatile, and I can style it many different ways.

So clearly, when I uncover a good one, I need to tell the world about it. Hands down, my favorite option to date is this Yummie Ballet Shaping Full Back Bodysuit ($68). When I tried it on, I audibly gasped because I was so surprised by how well it fit - it's simple, but it looks luxe and stylish.

The design has light compression that smooths out my torso like shapewear. It's also supportive enough to wear without a bra, and I'm a D cup! That never happens. The fabric is made to control your body heat, absorbing it when you're hot and releasing it back to you when you're cold - so genius. There are two rows of snap closures so you can have an adjustable fit. I love it so much, I'm going to invest in the white color as well.

Ahead, I provided the info for my exact bodysuit, as well as similar options in different colors. Take my word for it and stock up on this awesome wardrobe staple before it goes out of stock. Then, we can be obsessed together.

After Years of Searching, I've Finally Found the Perfect White Sneakers

You can catch me wearing white sneakers pretty much any day of the week. There's something about them that just makes me feel like my outfit is more put together. Throughout the years, I've bought so many different styles and brands that I've worn down until they need replacing. Time and time again, I tried new ones, because I hadn't found "the ones" I can't live without. Then on a whim, I bought the M. Gemi Palestra Minimo Sneakers ($198), and they became my new favorites.

What makes them so special? For me, I love the design. I wanted something that was minimal and brand-less. I found that a lot of similar pairs either had a lot of branding on them or were upward of $400, which I would never spend. The cool design pretty much matches anything, including stretchy comfy pants, my favorite jeans, cute maxi dresses, and even work slacks. The sneakers are also handmade in Italy, making them a quality pair you know will last. Made from real leather, they're a little stiff when you first get them, but mine broke in quickly. Plus, the rubber sole easily formed to my foot for all-day comfort.

I first tried them a few years ago and loved them so much, I just bought a second pair. If you're also on the hunt for the perfect everyday choice, then these are worth a try. Keep reading to shop it and a few other cute silhouettes from the brand.

30 Gorgeous Summer Dresses That Remind Us Glamour Does Exist!

If I'm being honest, summer dresses are exactly what I want to shop, even if I don't have many people to dress for at the moment. Considering the rise of the nap dress, the house dress, and the comfortable loungewear dress, it looks like I'm not the only one trading in my sweatpants for a breezy summer frock - these trends are all over our Instagram feeds.

No matter how you cut it, the glamour that comes with street style cannot be denied, and that's why I've been scrolling through some of my old favorite looks and pinning them to my mood board. Hopefully they'll do for you what they have for me - give you ideas for ways to wear your slips (like over a t-shirt!) or inspire you to throw on a long swim caftan just because.

Ahead, I've gathered outfits from the street style pros that really make me stop and take a second to think about how I've been wearing my most treasured wardrobe pieces, if at all. If nothing else, the slideshow ahead could encourage you to reacquaint yourself with a certain section of your closet that you've been avoiding - yep, you know the one.

Molly's Vacation Style on Insecure Is the Perfect Mix of Sexy, Comfortable, and Beachy Chic

Yvonne Orji's character on Insecure can do no wrong in the fashion department. For Molly, being a powerful lawyer by day and a trendy Los Angeles woman by night transitions seamlessly with her affinity for dresses, lingerie, and a good ole-fashioned bodysuit. During the seventh episode of season four, my appreciation for Molly's style reached a new level when she goes on vacation with new boyfriend Andrew (played by Alexander Hodge) - because packing for your first "baecation" when you'll also be meeting your partner's family is no easy feat!

Costume designer Shiona Turini brought the color and the swag to Molly's wardrobe for their trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and she had me taking notes for my future trips, since going on vacation isn't an option at the moment. During a time when summer trips are postponed and getaways are being taken virtually, Molly's wardrobe provides a sliver of hope and something to look forward to for some sunny days ahead. From the perfect airport outfit to an animal-print bathing suit and even some bright athleticwear, read on to see how Molly's vacation style on Insecure is the ideal combination of sexy, comfortable, and beachy chic.

This Easy Indoor/Outdoor Outfit Will Be Your Go-To Summer Look

We're all trying to master the art of the indoor/outdoor outfit (it's not just you, Dua Lipa!). My personal favorite look right now happens to be the swimsuit and work shirt, because as long as you have a full swim drawer and one-to-two button-downs, the combinations are endless. (Don't forget, you can always shop your SO's closet for these essentials, too.) If you do have an outdoor space for warmer days, you can make the easy transition in this look, which is comfortable enough for loungewear - or pajamas, even - and cool enough for catching rays and all that vitamin C when temperatures soar.

I love the idea of working a maillot with a lightweight, oversize linen shirt because I feel like I'm basically just wearing a top and bodysuit. If need be, I could always throw on a pair of sweat shorts and run downstairs to get the mail. That said, bikinis are fair game, too, and some newer iterations on the market even come with matching bowling shirts, making for an adorable three-piece set (see: Frankies Bikinis and Solid & Striped). Whether you choose to purchase one of the aforementioned co-ords because you're gung-ho about the trend, or you prefer to work with what you already have, one thing is for sure: summer isn't dead, y'all. I'm practically living out of my swim drawer.

How to Layer Jewelry, According to Jewelry Designers

To be skilled at layering jewelry is not unlike being proficient in the arts. Well-chosen necklaces, a spectacular ring stack, or a masterful earring arrangement are all worthy of applause if not deserving of a standing ovation. OK, that's slightly dramatic. But you follow our jewelry-minded gusto, yes? Half the fun of building a jewelry collection is figuring out fresh ways to layer your favorite pieces - that and showcasing as many of them as possible without looking like a try-hard.

Of course, certain outfits call for varying layers of jewelry. An everyday ensemble like a t-shirt and jeans is the perfect canvas for a mix of chains, bracelets, and earrings. The same goes for clothing you'd wear to the office or for a professional event; personal pieces that read subtle and sophisticated are key. However, statement earrings or a unique pendant is entirely appropriate, too. Dressier moments like a wedding or party are the perfect occasion to go bolder with your jewelry layers. You can mix in statement pieces like a bold earring, colorful bracelets, or a cocktail ring. Or, experiment with more distinctive designs, whether it's an asymmetrical earring or sculptural shape. You can even go full-on razzle-dazzle with layers of colorful gemstones, diamonds, or rhinestones.

Then, there's the question of how to layer jewelry with other accessory fixtures like a watch or, possibly, an engagement ring. The short answer: whatever feels right to you is best. Though, a few specific tips lie ahead.

Since layering jewelry is a legitimate art form, we sought out the advice of jewelry designers Jacquie Aiche, Bouchra Ezzahraoui, and Sophie Kahn of Aurate, Zoë Chicco, and Alyssa Wasko of Donni. From the basics of layering necklaces to tips on building ring stacks and how to combine earrings for a stellar ear party, keep reading for their expert tips. Plus, shop the edit of jewelry, from affordable pieces to investment-worthy buys - you know, if you're in the market for a little something special.

The "Nap Dress" Is 1 Trend You Don't Just Want to Sleep On

One of the most comfortable trends to emerge this summer is the "nap dress." The name evokes an alluring sense of relaxation and calm. I've had my eye on this trend for a while, but it wasn't until the warm weather hit that I actually got one. Many of these dresses are made to sleep in, but designers have given them extra details like lace, eyelet, and smocking to make them wearable for daytime.

The dresses are usually made of soft, breathable cotton, and in delicate florals or solid white, they are perfect for summer days. Simply add your favorite minimal sandal or wear one over a swimsuit. These dresses feel like special "treat yourself" purchases - a stylish addition to your wardrobe, day or night.

Kylie Jenner's Lime-Green Coat Is Eye-Catching, but How Cute Are Stormi's Sneakers?!

Kylie Jenner and her 2-year-old daughter, Stormi, look cute as ever in the beauty mogul's latest Instagram. While posing in the backyard for Scott Disick's birthday, Kylie decided to wear an eye-catching lime-green coat while holding Stormi. She captioned the adorable photo, "my forever" - cue the awws! Kylie styled the bright-green coat, which was embossed with an ostrich print, over a white minidress. She gave herself even more of a '90s feel by tying her long blond hair into two pigtails with loose strands framing her face.

While Stormi and Kylie are not afraid of twinning in matching mother/daughter outfits, they decided to switch things up. While Kylie went for a '90s-inspired outfit, Stormi stole the show in her little sporty outfit that was too cute to handle. She wore a brown T-shirt with what looked like blue flames on it and beige shorts. She accessorized with high socks, cool sneakers, and a diamond chain necklace. If her outfit revealed one thing, it's that she's pretty much the flyest 2-year-old we've ever seen. Keep reading to get a closer look at both of their outfits. We've even shopped out Kylie's minidress if you're feeling inspired.

Bella Hadid Teases a Secret Tie-Dye DIY Project, and I'm First in Line For Her Tees

Tie-dyeing has become the ultimate at-home activity in the past few weeks, a DIY project to pass the time that Bella Hadid certainly seems to be a fan of. The supermodel shared some Instagram snaps of herself isolating at home with her mom, Yolanda Hadid, in the background. Then, just like that, we were taken outside to her workspace - an area in the backyard where Bella hung up tie-dye tees on a rack in various colors and what looks like multiple breezy, coral throw-overs. "I'm very excited about something I've been working on..I hope you will love the idea," she wrote on a photo of herself next to her tees.

These 10 Summer Dresses Look Like a Million Bucks, but They're All Under $35

When the sun beats down, the only thing I want to wear is an easy-breezy dress that allows me to move freely. Since the temperatures in my town soared well into the mid-90s this week, I've been reaching for lightweight Summer dresses every single day. Luckily, Old Navy has some incredible sales this week, so I decided to go through its entire inventory of dresses - that's over 400 pieces - to highlight 10 of my favorites. Whether you want a soft jersey-knit dress or an elevated linen blend, these dresses look way more expensive than they are; nothing is over 35 bucks.

This Bestselling Maxi Dress You Keep Seeing on Instagram Is Only $14 Today

Just like doing my hair or spending extra time grooming my eyebrows, putting in the extra effort to find something cute to wear - even if I'm just working from home and in sweats - has the ability to affect my mood. There's certainly no replacement for stylish loungewear, but I was curious as to what would happen if I challenged myself to wear a dress while working from home - weather dependent, of course. In part because I kept seeing this adorable printed maxi dress in my Instagram feed, which I'll link to ahead, but also because I was just genuinely curious about whether I'd feel silly wearing a dress inside, or if I'd love it.

I'm happy to report that last week, I wore a thin maxi dress inside three times! Not only was I completely comfortable (important note that I only wore easy-breezy dresses; nothing formfitting), but exuded a bit more pep throughout my day. I encourage you to take a break from your usual loungewear game and embark on a dress journey. If you need some shopping ideas, here's the Sleeveless V-Neck Maxi Shift Dress($14) that got me in the mood.
