This $25 Floral T-Shirt Dress Is the Best Thing I've Bought All Summer

I'm someone who loves spending time outside. Whether I'm chatting with neighbors or walking my dog, I love a good healthy dose of vitamin D when I can schedule it in. Now that it's consistently hot outside, I realized I needed to find more warm-weather outfits that were easy to put together. Sure I could go for denim shorts or my biker shorts, but I always feel like I have to put a lot of effort into styling; I wanted to find something more turnkey. I set out to find the perfect Summer dress and set a few rules before I started shopping: the dress had to have a fun print (prints just make me happy), it couldn't hug my waist (nothing more uncomfortable than being hot in a dress that's also tight), and it had to be machine washable (dry cleaning is for the birds). It didn't take long before I found it: the Old Navy Jersey Swing Dress ($25) checked all my boxes.

I took a look at the fabric before ordering (a mix of rayon and spandex) and decided to actually order down a size, which sounds crazy considering I wanted to find an easy-going and roomy dress, but it ended up being the right move. The dress fits exactly like a t-shirt up top and is relaxed through the body with a flared hem that swings out as you walk, so there is a ton of space to move around. I also didn't want it to be too long because I knew I'd want to wear the dress with socks and sneakers; I like when dresses hit a few inches up above the knee.

This dress has been my absolute favorite purchase this Summer. I plan on wrapping a denim shirt around my waist when I wear it for the Fourth of July, and down the line I can wear it with sandals and a straw bag.

Their stylist, Zerina Akers, often puts them in matching outfits, coordinated colors, and bold prints. Think matching minidresses styled with sneakers, designer-logo ensembles, and bright colors like magenta and purple. 3 Editors With Different Cup Sizes Tested This Lively Bralette, and They All Agree It's Amazing

No matter your cup size, finding the perfect bralette can be a challenge. There are so many trendy brands out there, but one we hear good things about again and again is Lively. The company melds style and comfort together to make Instagram-famous bras we see on our feeds daily. We enlisted our shopping editors (who are all different sizes) to test out the Lively Mesh Trim Bralette ($35) and give their honest feedback on the design. Here's what they have to say:

Krista Jones, associate editor, A cup

"I have a bust on the smaller side and am usually an A cup, so I pretty much only wear bralettes. While my number one priority is always comfort, I also want something that is cute and even a little bit sexy. This choice ticks both those boxes. Not only does the size small feel good on, but it also makes me feel good, too."

India Yaffe, assistant editor, DD cup

"I never thought I'd be able to comfortably wear a bralette; I always thought I needed too much support. This bra is so comfortable but still makes me feel like I have some structure. Plus, the material is soft and doesn't dig into my ribs. Consider me a bralette convert. I wear a 34D/DD and I took a size medium."

Macy Cate Williams, editor, D cup

"When it comes to bralettes, I want something that's equal parts comfy and sexy. There's nothing worse than straps digging into my shoulders. I tried this Lively bralette in a large, and I've never been happier with a design. It's supportive (I don't feel like my boobs are bouncing all over the place), but I still feel like I'm wearing something pretty. Plus, the fabric is so breathable and smooth."

So yes, these Lively bralettes are that good. Read on for all the shopping info and to get yourself one. All your other bras will start to collect dust in the drawer.

Jennifer Lopez's Wedding Dress Is Going to Make You Spill Your Drink, Without Question

Jennifer Lopez has worn slits so high, we've longed to measure them in inches. She once wore a ballgown that spanned the entire American Idol stage. We already know that there's no end to the thrilling looks Jennifer will flaunt in this lifetime. So, of course, she's got no reason to hold back when it comes to her wedding dress.

When she marries Alex Rodriguez (whether it be next year or later on in life), we expect to be overwhelmed with emotion, just by catching a glimpse of her gown. Would you really be surprised if she walked down the aisle in something entirely sheer or formfitting? She may opt for cutouts or even an ab-baring two-piece, if we know anything about J Lo's style.

Her incredible figure can be flattered by so many silhouettes, we know the options are pretty much endless. That said, we're making some strong suggestions based on Jennifer's fashion evolution from the late '90s to today. Ahead, check out the outfits we can picture her dancing the night away in.

Tory Burch Started the #WearADamnMask Challenge - Tracee Ellis Ross Is One of Many Who've Accepted

Tory Burch has started the latest Instagram challenge, and it's for a great cause. The designer kicked off a mask challenge to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a mask to not only protect ourselves but for everyone around us as well. She wrote a powerful statement explaining her thoughts on the issue of rising COVID 19 cases.

"I am sure you all are seeing what I am seeing, COVID 19 rates in the USA are rising at a truly scary rate. One thing I know for sure is that there's a very easy way each of us can help, and that's to #WearaDamnMask whenever we are in public. #WearaDamnMask because we want to protect ourselves and, even more importantly, we want to protect others. #WearaDamnMask because clearly, the doctors and data say we are not going to beat this pandemic unless we each do our part to get rid of it. #WearaDamnMask because is it not a political issue, it is an issue of saving lives. #WearaDamnMask because it is the only way to keep our most vulnerable safe and the only way to get our economy back on track."

The designer went on to ask everyone from actress like Kerry Washington and Tracee Ellis Ross to designers, influencers, and fashion editors like Prabal Gurung, Bag Snob's Tina Craig, and Samira Nasr to join in on the challenge, and here's how they answered.

How to Make Any Outfit Work With Flip-Flops

Flip-flops at the beach are a no-brainer, but on the street at Fashion Week a couple seasons back they were a novelty again. Not since the early '00s had we seen flip-flops worn with such fervor, only this time, style stars traded low-slung jeans and crop tops for brightly printed midi dresses and Bermuda shorts and blazers. The result was infinitely cooler - a grown-up take on flip-flops that we didn't even know we needed.

Now, in the era of laid-back dressing and staying home, flip-flops have become an easy answer to "what to wear" for a quick errand run or a walk around the block. Of course, they can be so much more too. With outfit inspiration from a few of our favorite trendsetters, we're showing you 17 ways to make flip-flops work with, well, mostly anything in your closet. Ahead, find all the ideas you need to take your flip-flop game to the next level.

I Finally Found a Breathable Face Mask That Makes Me Feel Stylish

As states begin to roll out phases of their reopening process, the CDC highly recommends wearing a face mask while out in public, especially when in groups or gatherings. While I've been wearing a standard blue non-medical face mask, I've still appreciated the iterations fashion brands are rolling out, many of which offer a 1:1 donation initiative. In other words, for every face mask purchased, one is donated to those on the frontlines fighting COVID-19. As a fashion editor, this notion alone gives me reason to support the brands giving back, but at first, I hesitated to choose a favorite.

"It's not exactly easy to feel excited to wear something enforced due to risk of infection, and it took me awhile to think of my mask as part of my outfit."

The importance of wearing a face mask should not get lost on any of us; the purpose is to do our part to stop the spread of the virus. But the idea that these cloth coverings are becoming the norm means that designers will employ all their creative ideas to make these items accessories - mixed prints, romantic florals, deadstock fabric from past season collections, you name it! "In the beginning, we were only making white masks, but then I was like, 'We need to have color,'" Christian Siriano said of his couture team's transition to making vibrant masks to brighten the mood in his makeshift New York City "factory."

But here's the thing: it's not exactly exciting to wear a mask, and it took me awhile to think of it as part of my outfit. But once Clare V.'s linen Bowie mask arrived, which I selected for a few reasons (all of which we'll get to in a moment), I came around to the idea that I have a choice about which mask I wear. I can choose one that speaks to my personality, and in fact, that's going to be the trend going forward.

I love the feel and vibe of this mask, but before I count the reasons I enjoy wearing it, here's the number one reason I find it so compelling: right now, Clare V. is encouraging customers to donate to Color of Change with the purchase of the mask, starting the minimum spend at $1. The organization campaigns to end racial and social injustice, and, with every purchase, Clare V. acknowledges the fact that our country is facing two pandemics - the coronavirus and intolerable systemic racism - not just one. If that's not reason enough to consider this face mask, I do have some thoughts about its comfort and versatility that might just convince you:

  • The look is Parisian-chic, with Clare V.'s signature red lips stitched onto the corner and effortless linen ties.
  • You can tie the bows around your ponytail or bun, just to make your look a bit more playful and have some fun with it.
  • The price point ($19) is friendly enough so that you may feel comfortable adding a donation.
  • The ties actually stay on and don't clip or bother your ears, like some of the ones with elastic straps I've tried.
  • They can be monogrammed and they're made locally in Los Angeles, where Clare V.'s team continues to donate non-medical masks to essential workers.
  • While the masks do sell out, the company is constantly making more and you can sign up to be notified when they're restocked.

Shop all the prints and colorways ahead.

I Finally Found a Comfy Pair of Linen Pants and They're on Sale For $20!

Lately I've been on the hunt for a lightweight pair of comfortable pants that are easy to wear on a day-by-day basis, and something I can even wear during any upcoming road trips. While recently shopping Old Navy for workout clothes, I stumbled upon these Old Navy Mid-Rise Wide-Leg Linen-Blend Pull-On Pants ($20, originally $40) and bought a pair.

Within seconds of trying them on, I knew I needed them. The fit was perfect and flattering, but for me, the real selling point is the material. They're lightweight and will keep me cool, but thick enough to offer some stability; they don't feel too thin or see-through. I decided on a black pair because they're easy to wear with just about anything, but they come in four neutral shades and even some printed choices.

Since I purchased them, I've been wearing them while working from home and couldn't be happier. The black shade doesn't fade, even though I've washed them several times. I love styling them with sneakers or sandals and a comfy tee. So, if you're headed on a trip soon or just want comfortable pants to wear at home, you'll want a pair for yourself, trust me. Keep reading to shop all the colors - and hey, at prices this good, maybe you can get more than one. Take a look.

Lizzo's Version of a Little Black Dress Comes With Iridescent Ruffles and a Daring Leg Slit

Even without a red carpet, Lizzo served up some serious glamour for this year's BET Awards. The "Truth Hurts" singer won the title of best female R&B/pop artist during the virtual award show on Sunday night and accepted the honor in a gorgeous black dress that gave us '80s prom vibes - in the best way possible. A custom Mônot design styled by Marko Monroe, Lizzo's version of an LBD featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, a leg slit, and voluminous iridescent ruffles on the left side. She paired it with shiny earrings by jewelry designer Natalie Mills and a bedazzled flask.

While wearing the eye-catching dress, Lizzo delivered an acceptance speech reflecting on her past experiences at the BET Awards, all while standing in front of her own album cover art, no less. "Three years ago, I sat in the audience at the BET Awards, and I didn't win anything, but I still went home and felt like a winner," she said. "Last year, I performed on the main stage. I didn't win anything, and I still felt like a winner. This year, I have the honor of winning this prestigious award, but I will always feel like a winner because as long as you're winning in life, that's the only trophy you need." Amen to that!

Ahead, admire Lizzo's good-as-hell BET Awards look (hah, see what we did there?) and watch her inspiring acceptance speech in full.

These Lightweight Pants Are Perfect For Summer, and on Sale For Only $20

Recently, I upgraded my loungewear collection with a number of matching sweats. Then, as much as I loved them, I hit a wall and felt like I needed to find some real pants. I think the sentiment I shared with coworkers was something like, "I have got to find some real pants." Maybe a curse word was in there somewhere, too.

I headed over to Old Navy and scrolled through over 400 pairs of pants until I found a pair that looked like they had promise. The Mid-Rise Soft-Twill Utility Pants ($04, originally $40) were exactly what I was looking for - soft, cute, and perfect for Summer. As soon as they arrived, I ripped them out of the bag and slipped them on because I wanted to know how they stacked up. Here are the details!

Chloe x Halle Show Us How Stylish a Virtual Performance Can Be in Reflective Fabric

Chloe x Halle performed at the 2020 BET Awards in not one but two expertly crafted outfits constructed by their stylist Zerina Akers. Zerina tapped TLZ L'Femme for some white reflective fabric that seemed to be her favorite out of the two polar-opposite looks.

The girls started the performance singing "Forgive Me" in black latex and fishnet stockings (Chloe in a cutout minidress and Halle in high-waisted shorts, a bralette, and blazer), but "Do It" brought out the low-slung cargos and crop tops with sashes swinging every which way. The mood was very early 2000s for the latter ensemble. Even though these looks were different by design, Chloe x Halle accessorized with sparkling jewels in both scenarios - chunky silver hoops in scene one and crystal-encrusted combat boots in scene two.

"The Girls Next Door vs. The Girls Around The Way. I've been dying to use this 3M reflective fabric in a look," Akers wrote on Instagram, thanking Derek Milton for his expertise in directing the virtual snippet, which was rather flawless from an aesthetic perspective.

Scroll through to see stills from both Chloe x Halle looks, then check out Marsai Martin's chill ribbed dress from her own at-home red carpet moment and hear Beyoncé's powerful Humanitarian Award acceptance speech.

Miley Cyrus's Blue Cutout Dress Pays Homage to The Beatles in a Pretty Unpredictable Way

Miley Cyrus performed her own rendition of "Help!" by The Beatles at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. The performance streamed on YouTube as part of Global Citizen's virtual event, Global Goal: Unite For Our Future. The celebrity appearances (Chloe x Halle, Jennifer Hudson, and John Legend showed up too) were to encourage a hopeful future and raise money for the fight against COVID-19, as well as support the Black Lives Matter movement and take a stand against the social injustices in our country.

"I wanted it to stay vibrant and hopeful like the melody of the song."

"Help!" was a good choice for Miley's cover, which she made sure was memorable, not only by infusing the song with her own Dolly Parton tinge - Miley is continuously influenced by the iconic vocalist, who is also her godmother - but by wearing a statement dress to go down in history. The Alexandre Vauthier Couture look is from the Spring/Summer 2020 collection and dazzling in teal beads and crystals from head to toe. Complete with an ab cutout, leg slit, and asymmetrical hemline, this number was nothing short of glamorous.

Miley told Vogue a bit about why she chose the dress: "I wanted it to stay vibrant and hopeful like the melody of the song. I love how this dress represents 'Glam Rock.' A little more [David] Bowie than The Beatles - with a nod to Dolly [Parton], whose version of 'Help!' I used as inspiration for my cover."

Miley also explained that she went with a blue color palette to pay homage to The Beatles's iconic album cover from 1965. It's hard to tell in the above photo, but John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr were actually dressed in oversize blue shirts. If that doesn't bring the performance full circle, what else could? Scroll down to see how Miley accessorized with silver rings and multiple hoop earrings and ear cuffs, and watch the video all the way through - trust me, it's totally worth it.

Ariana Grande's Midsommar-Themed Birthday Party Outfit Is Worth a Second Look

Ariana Grande celebrated her 27th trip around the sun in absolute style. The singer enjoyed an intimate birthday party hosted by her boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, and her friends Doug Middlebrook and Diane Herrera. For her big day, Ari opted for an outfit that went perfectly with the party's Midsommar theme.

Since the birthday party's theme was inspired by the Florence Pugh-led horror film, Ariana had an outfit to match. Celebrity stylist Mimi Cutrell helped put together Ari's bday look which consisted of a $40 knit crop top by Beginning Boutique and a matching white silk satin skirt by Danielle Guizio. She finished her look off with floral makeup and a gorgeous floral crown.

Ariana also went all out with the decorations. Her entire house was covered with gorgeous floral decor and even the guests wore flower crowns. The singer's dog also joined in on the fun and wore an adorable flowery headpiece for the soirée. It seems like Midsommar's lead star Florence was a fan of the birthday's theme because she went on to repost one of Ariana's photos. How cute is that? Keep reading to see all angles of Ariana's birthday outfit and shop her exact look as well as similar pieces ahead.

TBH, I Feel Pretty Hot in These $20 Denim Bermuda Shorts - and My Butt is Covered!

I've owned a ton of high-waisted denim shorts over the years, and the one disappointing aspect that's been consistent is that I'm never happy with the fit. There's always a tug-of-war between the waist height and pant length that either leaves me feeling like I'm showing too much leg or that, in order to cover my butt, the waistline digs into my hips. And I've tried to look for denim bermuda shorts in the past but they've felt too tight on my thigh. I recently decided to try Old Navy's High-Waisted Relaxed Cut-Off Jean Shorts ($20, originally $30) because the brand makes such great jeans to begin with, and these were reasonably priced. My review? Holy heck these shorts are absolutely perfect.

For starters the fabric is soft along the inner thigh - I'm talking NO CHAFE even on walks - and the shorts are stretchy without looking that way. The wash is slightly distressed, which makes me want to wear them with casual t-shirts and tailored blazers. Since I wore these shorts on a hot day I went with a sheer polyester blazer.

These are my absolute favorite Summer shorts and I can't wait to wear them with wraparound sandals and even button-downs. They fit true to size and don't require any breaking in.

The Only 12 Pieces of Jewelry You Need in Life

While a jewelry box brimming with beautiful baubles is nice, chances are you won't even wear most of the pieces in there - if you can even remember that you have them. Instead, you'll find a well-curated collection of necklaces, bracelets, and rings will probably serve you better; just focus on your favorite metals and add in just a few statement-worthy pieces - like cocktail rings and jewel-drop earrings to transform your LBDs, t-shirts, and jeans. Because, while a well-stocked jewelry box is like a girl's best friend, one crammed with tangled chains and loose earrings is kind of a nightmare. Summer Camp Dressing Is Officially a Thing, and It's Peak Quarantine Fashion

Maybe it started with all the tie-dye or the sporty sandals reimagined by labels like Prada and Chanel, but now summer camp has emerged as a whole summer style mood. It's not just the details we've seen cropping up for the past couple of summers - bright friendship-bracelet-inspired jewelry, nostalgic shell necklaces, and the aforementioned Tevas taking the place of heeled sandals on our favorite fashion influencers – it's a full blown, head-to-toe aesthetic that relies on the many essentials we've been wearing during our time at home. Items that were once deemed "indoor clothes" - think unassuming t-shirts, biker shorts, athletic shorts - outfitted with outdoorsy staples like bucket hats, windbreakers, and chunky dad sneakers or sandals. The look is adult sleepover camp with a fashion bent; one part quirky, the rest casual-cool.

The nostalgia-inducing trend is popping up on style stars, who prove that with just the addition of a vest, a pair of socks, or a few added hair clips or layered necklaces, you too can elevate your low-key shorts, tees, and sweatshirts to trendsetting status. Here, we've curated a handful of outfits that'll show you the way, as well as a few key pieces to shop. Get the look inside.

The 2020 Way to Wear Your Favorite Biker Shorts

Vashtie Wore a Custom Durag Veil For Her City Hall Wedding to Honor Black Culture

American DJ, artist, director, and designer Vashtie Kola married her Danish partner Emil in March 2020 at City Hall. While the couple was initially supposed to host a typical reception, they swiftly changed their plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Or, as Vashtie puts it on her website, "We had planned a big celebration for 2020, but Rona was like 'nah' and we were like 'bet'."

"[Vashtie's bridal look] is so much more than just something I would 'totally wear' on my own wedding day - it's something I respect."

They arranged to tie the knot alone (although photographer Edwin Ortiz was on hand to snap photos, and Vashtie's stylist James Johnson helped her get dressed while her beauty team helped her with glam.) You'll notice - probably straight off the bat like I did - Vashtie didn't wear a dress. The same way some people fall in love with a designer ballgown made of lace and tulle, I fell in love with Vashtie's bridal look the moment I saw it on her Instagram.

From her Dickies cargo pants to her Nike sneakers and Supreme Hanes tee, it was exactly the type of outfit I wear every day, albeit accessorized with some very standout bridal finishes. Vashtie is a self-described tomboy too - "my husband fell in love with me as a streetwear/sneaker wearing tomboy," she told me when I caught up with her and she filled me in on every little detail.

"I feel like most wedding looks stem from royals (mainly white) of a long gone era that other people wanted to emulate. While a lot of those styles are nice, I just didn't have much interest in them."

Vashtie worked with designer Evita Loca to create a custom lace-and-beaded durag veil (via text, mind you!), so she could pay homage to her culture. "I chose a durag veil combination to complement my streetwear/sneaker ensemble because I wanted my look to feel like me and to also honor Black culture, which has birthed all of those movements. I feel like most wedding looks stem from royals (mainly white) of a long gone era that other people wanted to emulate. While a lot of those styles are nice, I just didn't have much interest in them. I really wanted my look to represent me and the culture that has inspired me."

Ahead, all the questions I had about Vashtie's gorgeous wedding look answered, in detail, by the one and only Vashtie. If you were wondering, she and Emil just may celebrate all over again in 2021 - and her durag veil will absolutely make another appearance. Even if she wears a dress, I have a feeling her sneakers will be there too.
