Consider This Your Personal Shopping Guide For Kiara's Outfits on Outer Banks Season 2

Is your wallet handy? 'Cause season two of Outer Banks just hit Netflix, and Kiara (Madison Bailey) serves up major outfit inspiration in every. single. episode. While embarking on a whole lot of action-packed, gold-seeking, police-evading adventures with the Pogues, Kiara wears a slew of cool graphic tees, cutoff denim shorts, crop tops, and even cozy jackets, the latter of which weren't part of her wardrobe for the show's first installment. "In season two, we see Kiara transition into school layers, which allowed for a lot of fun with rugged jeans, funky boots, and cool cardis and jackets," Outer Banks costume designer Emmie Holmes told POPSUGAR. "Being able to layer her up means that you get to see the full spectrum of her envy-worthy style."

Kiara's outfits this season feature '70s- and '90s-inspired pieces Emmie selected from big-name brands like Reformation, Roxy, Free People, and Quicksilver, in addition to smaller brands like Her Waves, which she discovered on Instagram while stores were closed due to COVID-19. Emmie let movies like Empire Records and Dazed and Confused guide her when piecing together Kiara's wardrobe, ultimately solidifying the character's status as a "nostalgic throwback queen." So, want the lowdown on every affordable brand Kiara wears on OBX this season, straight from Emmie herself? Grab that wallet, and read ahead to get shoppin'.

The OBX Costume Designer Shares Season 2 BTS Photos and Her Secrets For Dressing the Pogues

Costume designer Emmie Holmes could not be more passionate about her job styling the Pogues and Kooks for Netflix's Outer Banks. After sharing some BTS fitting photos from her season one camera roll, we were eager to hear how she approached dressing the core characters for season two, including Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), John B (Chase Stokes), Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss).

"We know these characters more than we know ourselves at this point, so clothes are the easy part."

"The only thing that really changed was more trust and freedom from our producers to go nuts! In the first season of a show, there is always a hint of trepidation. You want to push limits and be different, but there's a gray area of what is 'too far.' The fans loved our bold choices last season, so this season, we just went with what felt right without any hesitation," Emmie told POPSUGAR, noting that sourcing clothing during the pandemic was challenging and that she relied heavily on the internet instead of visiting supply chain stores. With an action-packed show like OBX, the crew needs five to ten of the same piece of clothing for stunt doubles and multiple takes. Emmie sites brands like Katin, Duvin, and Seager as being trustworthy sources for beachwear she could order in bulk.

But finding clothes is only half the battle of curating full wardrobes for characters who have such distinct senses of style. "We know these characters more than we know ourselves at this point, so clothes are the easy part. My Buyer, Assistant Costume Designer, and I have scoured Charleston and the internet for all things OBX based on mood boards that I build for each character. Speaking of the characters, I've gotten pretty good at knowing what each cast member will love, too. Normally, I would wait until after a costume fitting to dye, age, and shred any of the clothes. But here, we're all on the same page creatively, so I can take my best guess at what the cast and Creator Jonas Pate will love and take my chances by destroying clothing before it's approved. Living on the wild side here in the OBX Costume Department!"

If you're intrigued by Emmie's intuition already, something tells us you'll be even more excited to get a character breakdown of looks included in season two, all of which are complete collaborations between the actor, director, producer, and Emmie's extremely talented ager/dyer, who turns brand new clothing into what she refers to as "grimy works of art."

Because Summer and Maxi Dresses Are a Perfect Match, We Found These 11 H&M Styles

7 Styling Tips We Learned From Dua Lipa's Stunning Summer Outfits

Dua Lipa never misses a beat with her fun, colorful, throwback outfits. The Future Nostalgia singer has fully committed to the Y2K fashion aesthetic with help from her exceptional stylist Lorenzo Posocco. If you've ever wanted to know how to copy her best Y2K fashion moments, we have a few tips that will make it a piece of cake.

Dua's take on Y2K style means a lot of pink and butterfly details. Some of her best summer looks include a baby tee or cropped top with a pair of animal-print jeans. She loves matching the colors in her outfit with her accessories - especially her shoes, baguette bags, tinted sunglasses, thin belts, and chunky rings. On the topic of rings, a Dua look is incomplete without them. Like fellow stylish star Sophie Turner, Dua loves stacking candy-colored enamel rings to add a fun, playful element to many of her outfits.

Fancy dressing like Dua this summer? Keep reading for seven styling tips to achieve her early-2000s aesthetic.

Nothing Says "Sun's Out, Buns Out" Quite Like Ciara's Cheeky One-Piece

I wouldn't be surprised if cell-phone companies experienced an uptick in devices overheating this week, because Ciara's been bringing some major fire to our Instagram feeds. The singer, dancer, and mother of three barely gave us enough time to recover from laying eyes on her sexy animal-print bikinigram before she shared yet another peek into her enviable vacation wardrobe. On Thursday, she dropped a captionless duo of photos in which she's sporting a pink marble-print one-piece swimsuit and matching sheer pants. It's not just any ol' one-piece, though - it's high cut and cheeky as can be, which Ciara made sure to flaunt with a backside shot.

Naturally, as soon as I laid eyes on Ciara's printed swimsuit and cover-up pants, I began scouring the internet to track them down, as one does. My search led me to Naked Wardrobe, an affordable women-run brand previously worn by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, and Serena Williams. The website lists a pink marble one-piece and pants that I can 99 percent guarantee are the ones Ciara wore while striking a pose on vacation in Mexico - and if they're not, they're a pretty darn close dupe. Shop both items ahead, along with a handful of similar selections, so you can "level up" your swimsuit collection. (Hah, see what I did there?)

Miley Cyrus's Platform Boots at Lollapalooza Would Certainly Make the Spice Girls Proud

Miley Cyrus performed live at Lollapalooza in Chicago, choosing Gucci for her main outfit on stage at the music festival. Miley has had close ties with the Milan-based brand since being introduced as a new muse and face of the Flora Gorgeous Gardenia fragrance. After she worked with her team of stylists to put together a Gucci wardrobe for her free Pride concert, which streamed in June, this red, sequined, '70s-inspired playsuit with a front zipper, collar, and GG logo belt took center stage.

Miley teamed it with crystal-covered platform boots that would make the Spice Girls proud, hoop earrings, and layered necklaces to sing Plastic Hearts hits like "Angels Like You," "Midnight Sky," and "Night Crawling" (yes, Billy Idol joined her in the flesh), plus older jams like "Wrecking Ball," "7 Things," and "The Climb." Before the show, Miley practiced her set in sporty striped hot pants and a Roy Halston tee, posing for her photographer Vijat Mohindra behind the scenes. Ahead, you can check out a full album she posted of her first outfit (along with some adorable puppies), then see snapshots of her Gucci moment that is certainly one for the books this summer.

The Story Behind Dua Lipa's Costume in "Demeanor" Makes That Gold Corset Even More Luxe

Dua Lipa has been working with stylist Lorenzo Posocco for quite some time, and he's behind many of her performance outfits, street style, and red carpet looks. But we can't say we were prepared for the impressive, 18th-century-inspired couture look that came with her appearance in Pop Smoke's video for "Demeanor."

Lorenzo sourced this gilded corset, complete with bows down the bustier and metallic threads at the sleeves, from the Jean Paul Gaultier archives. The design was first debuted on the 1998 spring/summer runway during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, but it fits right in atop Dua's full ballroom skirt and complements her stunning VRAM jewels so perfectly here. Dua and Lorenzo both shared behind-the-scenes shots from set, celebrating the fashion moment that has come full circle a whole 23 years later.

Ahead, see the Jean Paul Gaultier piece in its original form on the catwalk, then watch Dua bring it to life with her dance moves.

Loving the Tie-Dye Bucket Hats US Olympians Are Wearing? You Can Buy 'Em Online

Skateboarders aren't the only ones serving up fashion inspiration at the Olympics. Team USA athletes have taken a liking to one particular piece of merch they were gifted upon arrival in Tokyo: Ralph Lauren's tie-dye bucket hat. Covered in a red, white, and blue pattern reminiscent of melted Rocket Pops, the coveted hat reads "USA" in navy lettering on the front and features the official logo patch of the US Olympic team. It's just one of the many tie-dye loungewear pieces Ralph Lauren designed for American Olympians and Paralympians to wear during their downtime between competitions, in addition to creating both their opening-ceremony and closing-ceremony outfits.

The accessory has garnered quite a bit of buzz this month, thanks to athletes like rugby player Ilona Maher, who's consistently worn the hat in a series of behind-the-scenes TikToks that've gone viral on the app. As it turns out, the hat is actually available for purchase on Ralph Lauren's website and in select stores right this very second, so fans of the Olympics can snag one to wear while cheering on their favorite sports stars from home. It costs quite the pretty penny - 70 buckets, to be exact - but hey, maybe you can go halfsies on it with a friend or roommate? Shop the patriotic must have ahead.

5 Women-Founded Lingerie Companies Worth Shopping

The world of undergarments, originally run by men, has drastically changed over the last few years. We've seen more versatility in fit, size, and silhouettes than ever before. The reason? Women have entered the scene. There are a growing number of women sitting at the top of well known lingerie and underwear brands, as founders and executives. Thankfully, this change in leadership has challenged the traditional male gaze (read: objectification of women) that the industry was traditionally known for.

Some of the brands embrace individual sexuality, confidence and femininity, while others are focused on being a voice for gender-fluidity, and nursing moms.

Because treating yourself is seasonless, ahead discover the inspiration that led five female entrepreneurs to launch their own lingerie brands. Some new, some tried-and-true, and all here to give you beautiful, confident-boosting lingerie separates and sets.

Rihanna Wore Teeny Denim Shorts in Miami, and Somewhere Daisy Duke Is Trembling

Rihanna's teeny denim shorts deserve to be declared an eighth wonder of the world. The singer and image entrepreneur recently stepped out in Miami with boyfriend A$AP Rocky while wearing the short-shorts that would even impress Daisy Duke. The beguiling bottoms in question are in fact Rihanna's own creation: Fenty sold them for $220, but they are sadly no longer available following the closure of the luxury brand earlier this year.

The rest of Rihanna's warm-weather outfit consisted of a silk flame-printed blouse by Vetements, which she wore over a striped lurex bikini top by Missoni. She accessorized with black Givenchy thong sandals, rectangular Attico x Linda Farrow sunglasses, and a vintage beaded Fendi baguette bag. Rihanna also wore her go-to necklace these days, a gold zodiac medallion by New York jeweler Briony Raymond, priced at $14,800. (She's a Pisces, by the way.)

J Lo's Red-and-White Striped Bandeau Is Now the Focus of Her Romantic Vacation

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been out and about, and we've seen a peek into their new relationship in many different ways, a fashion lens included. After Jennifer wore a Foundrae "Ben" necklace to cement their love in stone, we could only imagine their next steamy appearance together.

It comes to us from Nerano, Italy, where the couple lounged on a yacht, Ben wearing a Ralph Lauren polo and Jennifer in a red-and-white striped bandeau top. Bikini or not, her resort style look was one for the books. She finished the outfit with white linen pants, embroidered Gucci platform espadrilles (which we tracked down - and you can buy them secondhand!), gold aviators, and matching jewelry.

While aboard, we spotted her with not one but two different covetable bags: a mini woven rattan purse affixed with pom-poms and her burgundy Christian Dior book tote, which retails for $3,250. Since her summer separates do come together quite nicely, and in a way that's optimal for your next vacation, we shopped out her pieces for you. Keep reading to see Ben and Jennifer in what is seemingly becoming their natural habitat, then scope out our inspired wish list.

Travis Scott Drops a Full Cactus Jack x Fragment Collection - Because It's Not Just About the Jordans

In conjunction with the release of his already-sold-out Cactus Jack x Fragment Air Jordan 1 High sneaker - which you can now bid on for upward of $2K across the internet - Travis Scott surprised fans with a well-rounded collection, which is now fully stocked on his website. He worked on all 19 pieces with Fragment's Hiroshi Fujiwara, also sharing a teaser video on Instagram. Two of the pieces are lent a special touch as part of a three-way collab with KAWS artwork's defunct brand Original Fake, founded in 2006. All of the designs are inspired by a look into Scott and Fujiwara's imaginations, and the result is graffiti-style artwork of bald eagles and tigers, which you can wear across the tees, totes, socks, beanies, keychains, and more. Even though you may not be able to get your hands on the shoes everyone's buzzing about right off the bat, scroll to shop the rest of the apparel to get in on the action.

Chloe x Halle "Knew Instantly" Which Self-Love Lyrics to Print on Their New VS Pink Tees

Talented sister duo Chloe and Halle Bailey are teaming up with VS Pink at a time when we're seeing a shift toward inclusion from the Victoria's Secret brand. The R&B duo and budding style stars have singled out their most empowering, feel-good lyrics off their studio albums Ungodly Hour and The Kids Are Alright and printed them onto one-size-fits-all tees that retail for $30 at VS Pink.

"It feels important for us to partner with Pink now to show young women that every size, shape, and color matter."

"When going through our lyrics, we were determined to look for the messages that stood out to us as reminders of self-love, empowerment, and inspiration," Chloe and Halle told POPSUGAR of the design experience. "A lot of the songs that we write we think of as tiny love letters to ourselves. They remind us that even though things may be tough sometimes, it will all be OK in the end. Sometimes it's hard to remind yourself of these things, so putting it to a melody really helped make it a memorable, positive affirmation. So we knew instantly what lyrics we wanted to put on our tees." Chloe and Halle recommend wearing them at the gym, at the studio, or just around the house to watch movies. And they hope their fans who are wearing them look in the mirror and feel more than worthy.

As part of the collaboration, Chloe and Halle are putting the focus on a matter that is dear to their hearts: mental health. VS Pink will be donating $75,000 to Sad Girls Club, which specializes in supporting women of color, millennials, and Gen Z, and $75,000 to BEAM, the Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective. Chloe and Halle were also involved with Victoria's Secret's Pink With Purpose initiative, speaking during virtual summits about using music for therapy and self-expression. "We love Pink because they are embracing what it is to be real and honest about beauty, internally and externally," the girls said about their relationship with VS. "It feels important for us to partner with Pink now to show young women that every size, shape, and color matter."

Chloe and Halle have become known for sending messages through their clothing with the help of stylist Zerina Akers, and they're very in tune with one another's own personal aesthetic. (Halle described Chloe's look as bold and beautiful, while Chloe said Halle's is natural and ethereal.) But what ties their tastes together and is most important to them is universal representation. "It's in the way we do our hair, the faces that we wear on our shirts, and the colors we use for our makeup - it's in everything. We wear messages that we believe in proudly on our chest and we are so grateful to our followers for understanding that it's unapologetically us." It's safe to say that sentiment is reflected on these three special tees, which you can shop right after the jump.

Zoë Kravitz Channels the '90s With Pristine Attention to Detail - and a Telfar Bag

Catwoman actress Zoë Kravitz was spotted out in New York City wearing all the quintessential '90s pieces you'd need to expertly channel the decade on a warm summer day. Kravitz opted for a low-slung satin slip skirt, ribbed tank top, blue hair bow, small, gold hoops, chain-drop choker necklace, dark black sunglasses - a collaboration between Oliver Peoples and The Row - and flip-flops. And of course she topped off the outfit with the very much coveted Telfar shopping tote. (Though the brand was established in 2005, it totally would have been just as cool in the '90s.)

Zoë's color choice in everyone's favorite purse is the dark olive shade, which is currently sold out on the site to absolutely no one's surprise. That being said, the simple approach to styling the rest of her ensemble is definitely something you can manage with our help. Though we don't know exactly where Zoë was going or who she was seeing, we can only imagine all the compliments that were bestowed upon her as soon as she arrived. These 50+ Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Items Are So Good, We Can't Unsee Them

I Made It My Personal Mission to Track Down Yara Shahidi's Gorgeous Printed Cover-Up

In addition to offering vacation wardrobe inspiration in season four of Grown-ish, Yara Shahidi kindly does so in her free time. The famously stylish actress and two-time Adidas collaborator recently shared photos from a family vacation in Anguilla, where she wore a gorgeous cover-up that I found myself researching in record time.

Presumably put together by stylists Jason Bolden and John Mumblo, who she tagged, Yara's brightly colored swimwear look consisted of a red printed string bikini and matching tassel-adorned sarong, all by Tory Burch. Yara accessorized with a gold necklace and classic pair of hoops. Shop the breezy look ahead.

Here's Why I Ditched My Stay-at-Home Sweatpants (Almost) For Good

It took me years to fully appreciate sweatpants. Up until 2020, I only owned one pair from high school, and I wore them almost exclusively as pajamas. If they ever did see the light of day, it was only while I grabbed a package off of my porch or took out the trash. I just didn't understand their appeal. Sure, they were comfy, but they also made me feel a little lazy, like I wasn't putting enough effort into my outfits. So pajamas they stayed.

Then, the pandemic hit, and I was stuck at home with nowhere to go. Ads for sweatpants started popping up everywhere. They were the ultimate fashion item of 2020 - warm and comfortable, they became a go-to while we waited for much of the world to open back up again. I had to admit, living in sweatpants definitely had its appeal. I loved feeling cozy all the time, and I didn't even realize the pressure I felt to look put together every day until I didn't have to do it anymore. Sweats were convenient, too. My clothes became one fewer thing I had to worry about during one of the most stressful times I can remember. I was living large in fleece and French terry, and I loved it.

But as one month of staying home turned into one year, I realized that throwing on one of the same five combinations of sweats every day was starting to have an effect on me. Clothes were one of my main methods of self-expression, but without anywhere to go, I wasn't putting any outfits together anymore. I also wasn't doing my hair and makeup, and I missed those extra minutes of pampering in the mornings. And I felt more disconnected from my body because I was hiding it in baggy clothes all the time. It all started to slowly chip away at my self-esteem.

Fast forward to May 2021, and I was starting a brand-new job. I was lucky; my fully remote position didn't require many Zoom meetings, and I was forced to decide whether to go back to sweatpants or dress up anyway. I bought a new pair of slacks and never looked back.

I completely understand the appeal of wearing sweatpants every day, and I also think it's important to dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and happy, whatever that means for you. For me, time at home was a fashion reset. Now, I have extra motivation in the mornings to pick out an outfit that reflects what I'm feeling that day and that shows off my personal style. Now, I dress up every day in sweaters, blouses, jeans, trousers, and sometimes even shoes (when I need a serious confidence boost). Oh, and I'm definitely back to wearing bras, underwire and all.

Dua Lipa Brings Her Y2K Style to the Beach in This Rainbow Missoni Bikini

Queen of y2k style Dua Lipa continues her reign from Albania with her latest bikinigram. The singer and style star uploaded pics from a beachside photo shoot wearing a Missoni knit string-tie bikini and ombré button-down shirt with flower graphics. Her sporty sunglasses and black shoulder bag brought this fun, feel-good rainbow look some edge. Meanwhile, her delicate hoops and Arms of Eve Aaliyah necklace (which is beaded with white stones and still available to shop) provided a feminine touch. Dua's swimsuit, a knit design from the iconic fashion house that's famous for dipping its threads into a variety of colors to achieve the perfect blend, retails for $550 and would stand out whether you wear it alone or under a beach shirt.
