Can You Believe I Found This Perfect Dupe on Amazon for $20?!

Confession time: when the muscle-tee trend first made a blip on the fashion radar, I had mixed feelings. On the one hand, I was here for it. (As someone who credits Working Girl as one of their favorite movies and almost exclusively listens to '80s music, I'm always secretly looking for an excuse to rock some shoulder pads.) But when I went online to snag a little bit of the retro magic, I was flabbergasted by the price. Nearly $100 for a tee? I love keeping up with the trends as much as the next person, but that sticker shock was a little . . . well, shocking.

But a few months ago, it finally dawned on me to check Amazon for a budget-friendly dupe. Sure, Amazon might be where you order your selfie light and drawer organizers; however, it's also a great place to stock up on trendy pieces for less. As luck would have it, I was able to find the Meladyan Solid Cotton Padded Shoulder Sleeveless Tee ($19-$20) for a fraction of the price.

Don't let its exaggerated shoulders fool you: this dupe fits and feels just like every other tee I own. The only difference is that this shirt is slightly nipped at the waist, so I would recommend tucking it into your favorite pair of baggy jeans. But unlike the other T-shirts I own, this one's surprisingly elevated. I can just slip this top on, add some pants, and instantly feel like a cool girl. (I always wear this top with my favorite joggers when I travel, and I'd like to think I make my flights' best dressed lists every time.)

But what I love most about this shirt is the quality. Sure, $20 might be expensive for a simple tee, but it's on the cheaper side for this trend. I was a little worried it wouldn't hold up well in the laundry; however, I'm pleased to report that my skepticism has been left unfounded. Not only has this shirt retained its shape after a few washes, but the shoulder pads are also intact.

Oh, and did I mention it comes in a bunch of colors? As of now, I only have this shirt in white, but I'm definitely filling my cart with a few more. I mean, when you find something that's cute, comfortable, and chic, it's a no-brainer.

NFTs Are Fashion's Newest Collectibles

By now you've probably heard the term NFT, but maybe you're not entirely sure what it's all about? Or what those three letters even stand for? NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, are a kind of digital contract that verifies ownership of something. NFTs can be "attached" to digital assets like art or fashion, and allow them to be sold or transferred. When NFTs are sold, the creator of that asset receives commissions from every sale, creating a new marketplace for brands and artists to make money off of their digital designs. (In some cases a lot of it.) In March, a piece of digital artwork by Beeple was sold at Christie's in an online auction for a whopping $69.3 million.

Luxury design houses quickly took notice of the potential of NFTs, and in the past few months Gucci auctioned off an NFT inspired by its fall/winter 2021 collection in an online auction hosted by Christie's, Burberry launched an exclusive line of digital accessories for Blankos Block Party, and Dolce & Gabbana generated $6.1 million in sales in its auction of a nine-piece NFT collection.
Of course, not every NFT is seeing a big return. In fact, the market is currently flooded with available NFTs from digital artists that may or may not increase in value. NFTs are available for as little as $1 and the value is ultimately determined by the market.

One brand, Metagolden has addressed this somewhat risky investment by pairing it with something that has a proven track record of value retention: gold. Metagolden is one of the first jewelry brands to embed an NFT with digital artwork in each piece. "If you're going to tokenize an NFT, you may as well do it with something you can wear and appreciate instead of just saying you own it with a stock or digital contract," says former fashion editor and founder of Metagolden Francine Ballard. We caught up with Ballard for a crash course in all things NFTs.

POPSUGAR: How do NFTs change the game for artists, musicians and designers?
Francine Ballard: The reason artists in particular are excited about it is because it allows them to bypass the middleman. In the past, galleries (or labels in the case of musicians) and retailers had the power because they contracted with artists to sell their work and they took a big chunk of the sale in commission because they had access to the buyers. Now, with the advent of social media, most artists have their own curated audiences and can sell directly to their consumers. NFT contracts allow them to take that a step further and recapture a piece of all future sales of their art. So said differently, I buy a piece and sell it to someone else. The artist would get a commission even though they aren't involved with the sale - and on, and on. Every time that piece resells, they get paid.

PS: How is Bitcoin or cryptocurrency connected to NFTs?
FB: Bitcoin is a digital currency that uses a decentralized system that records transactions in a distributed ledger called a blockchain. Wait! Stay with me. The inventor of Bitcoin created this technology, but once there was sufficient proof of concept, other applications evolved out of it. Ethereum was the first. They used the same technology to create digital contracts. So think of it this way: Bitcoin = Blockchain money. Ethereum = Blockchain contracts. These contracts are called "NFTs."

PS: What's the easiest way to get involved in NFTs? How can you start with relatively low risk?
FB: Download an exchange app (Gemini or Coinbase) or wallet (Metamask is the most universally accepted) and bid on an inexpensive piece on one of the art platforms. (Opensea is the largest, but there are many others.)

PS: What is Metagolden and how did you conceive of this concept?
FB: Metagolden is a gallery platform that connects consumers to the burgeoning and lucrative world of NFT investment through digital art coupled with fine jewelry. So you purchase the art and jewelry together. The jewelry is featured in the art so the two are inextricably bound and verified on the Blockchain. You can think of it this way - the jewelry is the proof of purchase for the NFT art.

PS: How do consumers showcase their digital art?
FB: Via any digital platform, social media channel or via QR code from anywhere. We present our art in an acrylic cube frame.

PS: Where is the fashion industry headed with regard to NFT technology?
FB: This is such a fascinating dialog and it's truly incredible how quickly the space is advancing. There are digital fashion houses and also digital wearable marketplaces that are already doing big business such as DressX. I also believe with luxury brands like Gucci and Fendi launching more and more physical and digital products, this will be the tipping point in terms of mass adoption.

Last Night in Soho's Costume Designer Shares the Secret to Dressing Like a 1960s Bombshell

Anya Taylor-Joy continues crafting dangerous and mysterious characters in her new role as Sandie in Last Night in Soho. Costarring Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, and Shadow and Bone's Jessie Mei Li, the film is best described as a feminist revenge thriller. Taylor-Joy's Sandie is a naive femme fatale, desperate for her big break in 1965 Soho. Sandie plays foil to McKenzie's Eloise, a fashion student in prepandemic London, who begins to relive Sandie's disturbing memories as if they were her own. While Sandie inspires Eloise's debut collection, personal style becomes a way for her to connect with - and study - her muse.

Costume design by Odile Dicks-Mireaux illustrates Sandie and Eloise's mirrored experiences between the 1960s and 2010s. The principal costumes for Last Night in Soho begin with Eloise's newspaper gown and Sandie's tent dress, which quickly becomes Eloise's main design inspiration. "I was looking at high fashion and pictures from old Vogues, and the choice was wonderful. These beautiful ball dresses of the late '50s were very sculptural, which was so very exciting," Dicks-Mireaux told POPSUGAR. "That was the perfect path to go down for the newspaper dress." For Sandie's peach dress, called the "tent dress" by the designer, Dicks-Mireaux took a slightly different approach. "I definitely went to paper patterns, looking at the sort of things that ordinary people could achieve and make, and I got caught up in that," she said. "Then I found that Monica Vitti had worn a dress similar to the tent dress in the '60s with Terence Stamp, so I thought, well, that's a good connection, because we're going to have Terence Stamp in the film."

Sandie's peach tent dress is Eloise's first inspiration for her own collection, and from there the story follows Sandie's black lace dress, her burlesque costume, then a red minidress, and a white patent trench coat worn by both Eloise and Sandie throughout time. "The story was that she [Sandie] would be more covered up, more sophisticated at the beginning, and then when she goes to the red dress, she's got to attract a lot of punters, and she's further along her downward journey," Dicks-Mireaux explained. She and her team modelled Sandie's 1965 wardrobe from mood boards, research, and films curated by director Edgar Wright (also known for Baby Driver and Hot Fuzz). "One of the films that inspired me a lot was Darling (1965)," Dicks-Mireaux said. "Julie Christie in Darling." Sandie's wardrobe was also inspired by 1960s paper patterns by Nina Ricci, and Vitti's character in the 1966 film Modesty Blaise, which costars Stamp.

"The black lace dress was still her hope and sophistication," Dicks-Mireaux said. "I found a picture of a pattern by Nina Ricci and thought, oh, that's great!" The black lace dress particularly worked because it was a combination of two fabrics, much like the peach chiffon tent dress. She used Sandie's dresses as opportunities to create a mirroring effect with Eloise's wardrobe, by using two different types of layered fabric to construct many of the looks. It was also important for the designer that Sandie and Eloise's costumes were "light and airy". The chiffon layer of the peach dress adds a lightness to the look, as is the case with the lace layer of Sandie's black dress, the organza bow of her red dress, and even the netting on the shoulders of her burlesque costume. "Both Anya and Thomasin are quite young and somehow that seemed right for their ages, rather than maybe an older, more mature young lady," Dicks-Mireaux added.

The principal costumes were created bespoke with fabrics that were authentic to the time, but the majority of the costumes were carefully sourced vintage pieces. "It would be impossibly difficult to do everything, so you start by collecting vintage pieces to try on the actors to get the shape," she added. "At the end of Anya's story in the basement club, all those pieces are vintage. None of those were bespoke. All the underwear she wore was vintage, and that worked really well. Then when we were collecting the costumes for the crowd, we went to different costume houses in Paris and in London."

Once the vintage and bespoke costumes were sorted, Dicks-Mireaux and her team collaborated with Phoebe English and local fashion and art students to create Eloise's debut collection. Ellie's final collection included gender-neutral pieces inspired by Sandie's principal looks, but reimagined through a futuristic lens. "As a designer, you can't necessarily design everything yourself," she shared. "You have to bring in people around you. I had a very young, great team who were buying all the modern clothes. I also had a young girl helping me who's straight out of art school. She got me into the art school to look at what fashion students were wearing as well, and that's the fun of the job. I'm supposed to know everything from medieval to the present day, so you need a good team around you."

A good team might be the best advice from an award-winning costume designer, but Dicks-Mireaux also admitted that "growing up through the '60s" is a massive help. For creating a modern '60s wardrobe, she suggests making something with paper patterns and checking out one of the numerous £3 fabric warehouses. "That's what I did, that's what my mum did. The shapes are relatively simple. You don't need a lot of fabric if they're short, and you can have the joy of taking the Courrèges world. You can create a fashion of your own quite easily, and use color. It wouldn't take long to make something!"

Lori Harvey Is "On a Secret Mission" to Look Damn Good in Her Sleek Black MMK x 007 Swimsuit

The name's Harvey, Lori Harvey, and she's passed her latest style assignment with flying colors. During a getaway in Miami, Lori joined her fellow models on a yacht to promote Michael Kors's new MMK x 007 collection inspired by international super-spy James Bond. "On a secret mission 🤫," Lori captioned an Instagram post on Oct. 28. Like the opening scene of a new Bond film, Lori shared a photo of herself stepping down from the yacht in a sleek black Michael Michael Kors one-piece swimsuit with a high leg cut and a zip front. She also layered the piece under a cropped T-shirt with the MMK x 007 logo written across the front in gold.

Lori may not make an appearance in No Time to Die, but these photos are all the proof we need that she should be on screen next time a James Bond movie is in the works. The fitted one-piece also features the MMK x 007 logo embroidered at the base of the scuba swimsuit as a reminder that Lori is always on a mission to look damn good (and crushing it). Check out her head-to-toe secret agent look here and shop the outfit for yourself ahead.

A Guide to Anya Taylor-Joy's Personal Style in 6 Simple Questions

It's no coincidence that Anya Taylor-Joy has shown off her impressive talent starring in two key roles from the '60s: The Queen Gambit's Beth Harmon and now Last Night in Soho's Sandie. The 25-year-old actor and artist first fell in love with the decade's music at a young age, and continues to incorporate so many of the nostalgic fashion trends into her personal wardrobe.

From a red carpet perspective, Taylor-Joy knows how to toe the line between drama and elegance. Her appearances are classy, yet never too understated, and always, always with personal meaning behind them. She's worked with Image Architect Law Roach and stylist Paul Burgo on some of her most memorable looks, even recently co-designing a Richard Quinn floral catsuit for a TV interview.

POPSUGAR talked to Taylor-Joy about her recent experience filming, her personal likes and dislikes, and the funny memories from her childhood she was willing to share. All in all, we discovered everything we've ever wanted to know about the star's style evolution by asking her the six simple questions below. From Peter Pan's influence on her closet to the Tigger onesie she recently invested in, it's clear there's nothing dull about being a '60s queen at heart.

9 Fashion Moments That Celebrate Queer Culture

Fact: many iconic fashion moments would not exist without the LGBTQIA community's creativity and impact. That means no RuPaul's Drag Race. No rainbow check walking down the Burberry runway. No sparkly structured suits from Lady Gaga. And no cone bra worn by Madonna in 1990, designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier.

Despite a history of oppression and discrimination, the queer community continues to defy gender norms and push fashion into creative, and inclusive, new territory. And today, young designers like Christopher John Rogers, Telfar, Ella Boucht, Nicolas Lecourt Mansio, and more, have all set the stage to continue the conversation.

Although the influence of Queer culture is very strong in fashion, the stories often go untold. To honor some of the many looks and events of LGBTQ+ history, we're sharing some memorable moments in recent fashion history. From Billy Porter's incredible red carpet showmanship (hi, Met Gala 2019!) to Karl Lagerfeld's support for equal marriage opportunity on the runway, and so many in between, we're revisiting nine fashion moments that stand up and celebrate queer culture. And, although the nine below are iconic, they barely scratch the surface of the level of impact the influential LGBTQ+ community continues to have on the fashion world.

7 Filipino Designers Showcasing Their Culture Through Their Work

From high fashion to fashion accessories, local talent is in no short supply in the Philippines. However, according to Paloma Urquijo Zobel, founder of PIOPIO: "Due to Colonialism, Filipinos were made to believe for many years that our culture and heritage were subpar to those of the West and there had been hesitancy (until recently) to support local." Zobel and several other Filipino founders are part of the ongoing conversation hoping to encourage more local designers to create clothing, accessories and footwear to preserve and celebrate the culture.

Whether you enjoy sustainable accessories or artisanal footwear, ahead are seven Filipino fashion brands to add to your must-have list. Some are new, upcoming designers, and others have spent years building their brands to the cult-following they are today. But most importantly, all put Filipino culture at the center of the work.

Kristen Stewart Recounts What It Was Like Filming Princess Diana's Wedding Dress Scene

The Princess is here! In the trailer for the highly anticipated Princess Diana biopic, Spencer, starring Kristen Stewart, we got a glimpse of the actress portraying the late royal on her wedding day around the 1:53 mark. While the movie, which arrives in theatres 5 Nov., focuses on one pivotal weekend in Princess Diana's life - the Christmas holiday where she decided to leave Prince Charles - the clips of her in the wedding dress are likely from a flashback.

Of course, it is not the original dress that Princess Di wore on 29 July, 1981, designed by Elizabeth and David Emanuel, but it is a spot-on replication created by costume designer Jacqueline Durran for the Pablo Larraín film. Kristen's iconic dress in the trailer features pouf sleeves with lace ruffles, a scalloped neckline with a lace trim, and a breathtaking veil duplicating that of the late Princess's. The vintage fashion gods are bowing down!

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kristen said that wearing the replica dress while filming that scene was a "spooky day." "When we put that dress on, it is embedded in a montage that kind of flashed her life before you. Even though the movie takes place over a three-day period and even though I play her as a speculatively 29-, 30-year-old person, we still wanted to give a taste of the scope of her life," she told the publication. "Kind of touch on every part, even if it was in kind of lyrical dance. And the wedding dress is embedded in that montage and putting that on was a spooky day."

Larraín told ET that Kristen "was scared and excited" when filming in the dress. "It wasn't fear," he said. "It was the challenge of wearing that dress, taking that on and it was hard to walk with it. It was a big structure." Watch the trailer for Spencer above to see Kristen stun as Princess Diana, and see photos of the late royal from her wedding day ahead.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Might Have Borrowed a Gown From Angelina Jolie, but She Made It Her Own

Imagine having access to Angelina Jolie's wardrobe . . . and getting to wear her pieces on a red carpet. Well, for the star's lucky kids, that is a reality. Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, her 15-year-old daughter with Brad Pitt, donned a beautiful printed Dior dress at The Eternals UK premiere in London on Oct. 27 - the exact gown we saw Angelina sport two years ago for a Maleficent global press conference. Shiloh, whose version of the dress hit right above the knees, styled the look with classic ballet flats and simple hoop earrings.

Angelina's children have tagged along as she promotes her new film, making their own fashion statements along the way. Shiloh's leopard SAWA sneakers caught our attention at the Rome Film Festival on Sunday, while just a week prior, the star's eldest daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, stunned in her mom's 2014 Oscars gown. I mean, it's only natural that they'd take after their parents' chic style.

At the Wednesday night premiere, the actress shared with Entertainment Tonight that it's been "therapeutic" to watch her kids explore their fashion on the press tour. "I'm happy that they're able to have some fun with it and not take it too seriously, and start to explore themselves, even with their fashion," Angelina said. Ahead, see photos of Angelina and Shiloh wearing the same Dior number in different ways.

Rihanna's Feminine Pink Outfit Has All the Frills - Including A$AP Rocky's Necklace

Rihanna and boyfriend A$AP Rocky have brought us plenty of cute style moments so far this year. But while their Met Gala debut was a little more dramatic, we can also appreciate the subtler moments they share. Say, for example, a confident and cool Rihanna outing all alone, with A$AP nowhere immediately in sight, but carried close to the heart in the form of his cross necklace, which Rihanna wore proudly. She layered it on top of another gold pendant and a delicate lace Miu Miu blouse.

You'd probably be quick to notice the pink sequins on her Dries Van Noten skirt, furry fabric of her handbag, or throwback portraits on her Raf Simons Teenage Dreams trench before you spotted any sign of her SO's influence on her wardrobe. However, it's a sweet nod to A$AP, who wore the same necklace with Rihanna while filming a music video in the Bronx of NYC back in July (ahead). No word on when Rihanna first tried it on for size, but we've got to say, we like the way she wears it now.

Click through for a few more images of Rihanna at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, CA, zoom in on the jewelry in question and the inches on those towering Manolo Blahnik stilettos, then shop out her full look piece by piece.

Keke Palmer Gave Us Looks and a Flawless Performance at the World Series

In a room full of well-dressed people, Keke Palmer always stands out. From her stunning gold beaded Met Gala gown to the jaw-dropping gold sequin feathered skirt ensemble she wore on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actress knows how to bring the sartorial drama. We're always ready for a fashion spectacle whenever she's involved, and at the World Series, Keke and her stylist Seth Chernoff gave us just that.

The singer performed the National Anthem in a head-turning gold suit designed by Istanbul-based fashion house Raisa Vanessa, paired with tall Jimmy Choo boots. All eyes were on her as she delivered a beautiful rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner" in style. And with that, the first game of the World Series between the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros was off to a great start!

Penn Badgley in a Velvet Suit and Turtleneck Is Just Really Doing It For Me

Joe Goldberg's wardrobe on You may consist of basic button-downs, plain tees, and logo-less baseball caps, but Penn Badgley's real-life style offers far more pizzazz. The actor proved this fact during his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, serving up a heaping dose of fashionable eye candy to sustain me for the week. Styled by Warren Alfie Baker, Penn strolled into his late-night interview looking dapper as ever in a maroon velvet Giorgio Armani suit and coordinating Canali turtleneck. He topped off the monochromatic look with brown Christian Louboutin shoes, a Montblanc watch, and, because apparently he was on a mission to induce some major thirst, a gold pinky ring.

Penn's dashing ensemble - paired with his facial scruff, perfectly tousled curls, and dreamy smirk - had me feeling quite distracted as he chatted with host Jimmy about You season three and his newfound friendship with Cardi B, among other topics. The outfit, and especially his maroon blazer, was reminiscent of something Willy Wonka would wear after selling his chocolate factory, making millions, and moving to the Italian countryside to open a swanky, members-only coffee shop - and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.

Read ahead to admire Penn's swoon-worthy fashion moment ahead, and let's hope Joe wears some turtlenecks in You season four because whew, does this man look good in 'em.

Ciara's Version of a "Birthday Suit" Is Classic, Sexy, and So Her

To no one's surprise, Ciara celebrated her birthday in style - as proven by a series of stunning photos she shared to her Instagram on Tuesday evening, taken by the one and only Blair Caldwell. For her festivities, the singer chose a sexy take on a suit, wearing a black bolero jacket over a classic bustier and cropped white shirt with a collar. With the help of stylist Kollin Carter, Ciara pulled the look together with the perfect accessories: a silk satin tie, sheer thigh-stockings, Mary Jane pumps, and a beret.

Ciara's classic look, from Dolce & Gabbana's fall/winter collection back in 1992, comes the day after a romantic birthday surprise from Russell Wilson, where she wore a black knit dress and huge faux fur coat from her own brand, Lita by Ciara. Get a closer look at Ciara's "birthday suit" ahead.

Kristen Stewart Plucks an Ab-Baring Crop Top Right Off the Chanel Runway For the Spencer Premiere

Kristen Stewart sits in the front row of just about every Chanel show you've ever witnessed on your feed, and she recently wore a custom strapless gown from the fashion house complete with clusters of crystals while promoting Spencer in London. We were hardly surprised to find her in yet another Chanel look at the LA premiere, although this crop top moment was decidedly more edgy and fun.

In her typically sexy, smoldering demeanor, K-Stew combined a crop top from Chanel's fall/winter 2022 Haute Couture collection with a black organza and lace flounced skirt that later walked the same runway (likely a move her longtime stylist Tara Swennen had something to do with). Kristen bared her toned abs, smiling, laughing, and making funny faces as she's known to do, giving us every chance to zoom in on her 18k white gold and diamond jewelry, which - you guessed it! - is also from Chanel.

As you wait to see all the costumes she slips into for her role as Lady Diana Spencer, many of which are already confirmed to be courtesy of Chanel, enjoy a breakdown of her ensemble ahead, and see how she put two separates together to make for one memorable red carpet appearance.

Storm Reid Partners With New Balance: "I Want to Help Women Feel Seen Through Fashion"

Euphoria's Storm Reid is an actress, producer, humanitarian, and USC college student currently studying Drama and African American Studies. But add New Balance ambassador to the 18-year-old's impressive list of achievements, because she just joined the squad (which already includes Jaden Smith and athlete Sydney McLaughlin). New Balance was attracted to the way Storm empowers her followers, particularly women, to take up space and claim their moment - and really, who wouldn't be? When POPSUGAR talked to Storm about the partnership, which will include carrying out initiatives, product creation, and fronting campaigns and billboards, we were in awe of her determination to take on this new role.

"Equity within the sneaker world means continuing to pave pathways for women - in general and within the industry - and being purposeful in everything we're producing, whether it be campaigns or products. It's so important for young women to see themselves represented and to see other women feel empowered, be celebrated, and succeed. And this is what I hope to represent through my new partnership with New Balance, especially for women of color. I was once that little girl that found inspiration in celebrities like Zendaya and Keke Palmer, so I want to help women feel seen through fashion and inspire the next generation of little girls to follow their dreams and claim their moments," she said.

Rest assured, Reid is a self-described sneakerhead. If you follow her on Instagram, you can see how vast her collection is shaping up to be, and she even counts Serena Williams wearing Off-White AF1s to the Met Gala as one of her all-time favorite fashion moments. It's clear that New Balance was the right brand for her to align with, too, as she explains that the team really gets to know their partners and supports them in their careers. Ahead, you can see Storm star in a video for the We Got Now campaign, sending out the go-getter message that when you want something, "waiting isn't an option." Then, read some of Storm's best quotes about sneakers, all of which prove she is, indeed, the sneakerhead she appears to be in the photos ahead.
