Turns Out, Paris Is Actually Mindy Chen's Runway

It's clear from the way Emily in Paris costume designer Marylin Fitoussi lights up when I mention Mindy Chen that she is the standout style star of season two. Gawk as you will at Emily's bold print mixing, Julien's vibrant pantsuits, and Camille's chic brand of nonchalance, but there is no denying Mindy's energy and presence on screen.

Played by the talented Ashley Park, the role of Mindy relies heavily on her performances and, therefore, her performance outfits. They're all a product of collaboration between Fitoussi and Park, who have loads of fun in their fittings. "We call her Sparkling Mindy or Sparkling Ashley," Fitoussi told me, ready and willing to dish details on each and every memorable look - like that neon Oscar de la Renta dress she wears to Emily's birthday party in episode three (it was an archived sample size that Fitoussi found online and recut because she knew it was The One, though she now playfully refers to it as the nightmare dress). Then there's the half-man, half-woman costume she wears in scene one, an artful masterpiece created thoughtfully by The Blonds and fitted on Park via Zoom.

Fitoussi marveled at how easily Park slips into character once she is dressed in her over-the-top, larger-than-life clothes, explaining, "She has her own style in normal life, but when she's in character, she is ready to do anything." Ahead, Fitoussi broke down every element there is to curating Mindy Chen's wardrobe on Emily in Paris.

Lori Harvey Didn't Need Pixie Dust to Channel Tinker Bell With This Green Minidress On

Disney, here's your sign to cast Lori Harvey as Tinker Bell in your next inevitable live-action adaptation. Shortly after wearing the sexiest turtleneck dress of the season, the model and skin-care supplier shared photos of herself wearing a green minidress and matching blazer by Italian streetwear brand GCDS. Lori simply captioned her photo series, "Tinkerbell." (Yes, with the fairy emoji.)

A beige version of Lori's dress appeared on the fall 2021 runway. The dress features embroidered stitches and slightly padded material, with a scalloped hem and shell cups - although Lori's exact version also has cutouts at the bust, which she layered with a lace bra. Ariana Grande recently wore the same dress and blazer, except in white. Stylist Maeve Reilly completed Lori's look with strappy green stilettos and a shoulder bag with a chain-link strap.

See some of Lori's snaps ahead, and shop a similar version of her shell dress.

Yara Shahidi Showcases the Undeniable Comfort of These Easy Everlane Flats

Yara Shahidi has sent a subtle reminder to us all about the things that are important in life right ahead of the new year - flats! The Grown-ish actress, activist, and style star, who works with Jason Bolden on her more glamorous red carpet looks, thrives in a moment where she can show off her relaxed fashion sense to fans and followers on Instagram.

After resetting on the beach in a crochet-knit two-piece, then giving off sporty vibes in Chloe x Halle's VS Pink apparel, Yara shared a few laid-back photos of herself lounging in Lunya sleepwear and a pair of Everlane's Italian Leather Day Glove Flats, which retail for $115 and come in a total of seven natural colorways. The "buttery soft" upper is supposed to mold to the shape of your foot, which sounds pretty darn great to us. The Everlane team confirmed they sent them over to her, and clearly, she approves.

"Me at ease •swipe for my athletic prowess• đŸ„‹," Yara captioned her photo series on Instagram. Now, just in case you prefer a slightly different silhouette - say, one that's square-toed instead of rounded - we gathered some inspired styles from luxury fashion houses (think: The Row and Jil Sander) and affordable labels alike. Click through to make walking look easy and undeniably stylish, just like Yara.

17 Celebrity Style Stars Who Dominated 2021

Entertainment had a 2021 comeback, welcoming the return of red carpets. With its revival, a new wave of young celebrity style stars were born, while a handful of established ones took the year to further evolve. Chloe and Halle Bailey Choose Each Other's Best Red Carpet Look of the Year

Chloe and Halle Bailey have had quite the 2021 as far as the red carpet goes. They paid homage to their sisterhood in Rodarte at the Met Gala, dressed by fellow sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. They played each other's counterparts at the VMAs, where Halle introduced Chloe's solo debut of "Have Mercy." While there are times they coordinate purposefully (see: those sheer Yousef Al Jasmi numbers or their Peter Do satin slips), they mostly stay true to their own expressive styles.

Halle works with stylist Nikki Cortez on her looks, while Chloe's glam is courtesy of Jill Jacobs. Though there are certain projects they shop for together, we asked them to choose their sister's best independent outfit of 2021. While talking to POPSUGAR about their Twitch battle in partnership with Black Girls Code, Chloe and Halle were game to chat fashion, and they were quick to compliment each other's wardrobes this past year. It just so happens they most admire the looks that are sexy, trend driven, and daring.

Ahead, read Chloe and Halle's quotes about their sister's finest hour. As we approach 2022, rest assured knowing there are more jaw-dropping silhouettes where these came from . . .

We All Know Carrie Would Wear Charlotte's Sleeper Pajamas With Heels

Crucial to our weekly And Just Like That streaming is keeping track of any covetable items we can actually buy. Costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago did a careful job to incorporate old, vintage items just as well as new, and one such example comes in episode four, "Some of My Best Friends." Charlotte York Goldenblatt plans a dinner party in bed with husband Harry wearing Sleeper's feathered Party Pajamas, which were introduced in 2017 as the "wear anywhere" holiday look that begs for slippers or heels - it's totally your call.

We were instantly reminded of the scene from Sex and the City: The Movie where Carrie takes boudoir dressing on a whim into the streets on New Year's Eve to go eat Chinese food with Miranda. Though Charlotte's accessories are limited to her glasses and iPad in AJLT, this only speaks to how versatile a pair of fancy-shmancy pajamas can actually be.

Sleeper offers her exact set for $290 in a total of eight colorways, ranging from sizes XS-XXXL, though we aren't surprised to see that Charlotte chose pink based on her well-thought-out wardrobe by the costume team. Ahead, reminisce about that time Carrie teamed her own PJs with heels circa 2008, then scroll for all the proof you need that the look is truly timeless, no matter how you style it.

Allow These Celebrities to Demonstrate How to Dress For a Courtside Appearance

While the sidelines of basketball games have long been a place for cool celebrity style, these past few seasons, stars have definitely upped the ante as NBA courtsides have started to look more and more like front rows at fashion shows. They've become a spot for celebrities to show off their new relationships, the latest fashion trends, and standout footwear - impractical as it may be. From Adele's glamorous leather look at the Los Angeles Lakers' season opener to Chloe Bailey's skintight patterned jumpsuit at an Atlanta Hawks game, basketball-game outfits have certainly been elevated to a new level. Ahead, see some of our favorite courtside looks and get inspiration for what you should wear to a basketball game.

On Emily in Paris, Camille's the Real Style Star

While Emily in Paris (emphasis on the Emily) has inspired both devout fashion stans and fierce critics, Emily's Parisian pal Camille (played by Camille Razat) offers a more subtle style that we're not talking about nearly as much but certainly should be. Between the "ringarde," the printed or brightly colored, and the matchy-matchy ensembles Emily Cooper dons as an American in Paris, I've come to regard Camille's scenes, with her brand of chic dressing on display, as a kind of palate cleanser. While Emily - and Mindy, too - is a maximalist at heart, Camille reminds us that less can be more with the right tailoring, a standout cut, or the juxtaposition of two seemingly unlikely pieces paired together.

The real-life Camille agrees on that much. Describing her favorite look from the series for POPSUGAR, the actor landed on this: "The Yves St. Laurent dress that looked like a heart here [pointing to her chest] and with the huge leather jacket oversized - that's very me putting something so feminine and chic and putting something very masculine on the top of it. This look I love." The 27-year-old French actor and model seems to embody that enviable Parisian aesthetic off screen, too, though hers comes with a twist. "There [are] so many similarities, but I think my style in real life is more bizarre," she told us when we asked her to compare the style of her onscreen counterpart with her own. "I like oversized stuff all the time, you know, and I love, for example, if I wear like all-black look, I will put like crazy socks or a crazy hat with like colorful thing. So more edgy, I would say."

Her style, too, influenced the looks you'll see on the show, thanks to the collaboration between the actor and the wardrobe department: "It was such a good collaboration. Patricia Field is amazing. She's a true punk, and I love that . . . The costume designer, the French one [Marylin Fitoussi], she's great because she really listened to what I imagine. It's a real collaboration. And I love the fact that she tries - and I try, too - to put some smaller designers so they can get recognized."

The resulting looks are effortless in the way that have earned Parisian women a reputation as some of the most fashionable on the planet. Camille's outfits are the cool antidote to Emily's overdone ensembles, and there are some styling gems in each and every one. Here, we're looking at a few of the best from season two.

Serena and Venus Williams Are "Still Twinning After All This Time" in Matching Dresses

Image Source: Getty / Jon Kopaloff

After all these years, Serena and Venus Williams still enjoy a matching moment. On Tuesday, Venus shared a few snaps of the two hanging out in Miami with friends, where the sisters wore a pair of breezy, summery white dresses. "Still twinning after all this time xoxo," she captioned the post.

Serena chose a cotton quarter-sleeved number with eyelet details throughout, which she paired with aviator sunglasses, a simple bracelet, and pastel-colored running shoes. Venus, on the other hand, wore a fit-and-flare-style embroidered minidress with sleek white sneakers and a Louis Vuitton purse. It might be December, but the duo's easy summer dresses have us wishing we were on a beach right about now. Live vicariously through the photos below, and get a closer look at their complementary looks.

17 Noteworthy Outfits From Emily in Paris That Are Still Available to Shop

Emily in Paris costume designer Marylin Fitoussi, who consults with famed stylist Patricia Field for the Netflix TV series wardrobe, specified first and foremost that she'd like to work with young, Parisian brands as much as possible for season two. Explaining that she had much more time to plan looks in the lead-up to filming the newest crop of episodes, Fitoussi told POPSUGAR that she dreamed big.

"For 10 years, I was dreaming to work with The Blonds from New York. I got in touch with them because Patricia knows them very well, and I begged, "Please, could you do something for me?" she said, referring to the performance look Mindy Chen wears onstage in the first episode.

But Mindy slipped into the above dress from PrettyLittleThing (which is now retailing for less than $50!) just as easily as she did custom couture pieces, mixing high and low just like her counterpart Emily, who wears a contemporary priced canary yellow Self-Portrait dress underneath a Zara blazer in episode eight and a that famous camera phone case that you can readily shop on Amazon for $14.

While you'll see an assortment of French fashion houses included in the mix - Balmain, Roger Vivier, and Christian Louboutin to name a few - there are also lesser-known labels that Fitoussi was sure to bring to light, like Moynat, Patou, and English footwear company Terry de Havilland, responsible for some of the most eye-catching platforms on the show.

Ahead, we're breaking down the most memorable pieces from Emily in Paris season two that are still available to shop, and you can have your pick of them all. You know, once you finally decide on whether you're Team Alfie or Team Gabriel.

Blink and You Might've Missed Issa's Gorgeous Rose Gold Engagement Ring on Insecure

Insecure's series finale had us so emotional, our constant stream of happy tears nearly obscured a major plot point: Issa Dee and Lawrence Walker are engaged! In the concluding minutes of the HBO show's last-ever episode, we catch a few blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpses at Issa flashing a gorgeous engagement ring as she hangs out with Lawrence and his son, Elijah, in their kitchen and talks on the phone with Molly. Though the camera doesn't zero in on the ring at any point during the scene, it's pretty darn hard to ignore - so much so that we literally paused and rewound the episode to fully admire it.

Because we don't get any close-up, in-focus shots of Issa's ring, we reached out to a few experts for their take on the style and cut based on the footage we do have. Los Angeles jewelry designer Grace Lee told POPSUGAR the diamond appears to be a 1.5-carat rock that's either asscher, emerald, or oval cut, secured in a rectangular frame, and set in rose gold. She estimates the ring would cost about $15,000 (damn, Lawrence!). Meanwhile, New York City jewelry designer Ashley Zhang notes the diamond, which seems to be surrounded by a halo of smaller jewels, could also potentially be cushion cut and estimates a value of approximately $25,000. Zhang also speculates the band may be a split shank style, which is coincidentally the band style for Issa Rae's real-life engagement ring from husband Louis Diame. Perhaps that was Issa's form of a subtle Easter egg?

In case you happened to miss Issa's gorgeous engagement ring on Insecure, fear not, because we have a photo for you to gawk at ahead, along with a few similar ring styles to browse.

Has Victoria's Secret Learned Its Lesson? Bella Hadid Tests the Waters

It took Bella Hadid almost a year and a half to sit down with Victoria's Secret and discuss the prospect of joining the brand's VS Collective as an ambassador. The lingerie giant launched the initiative in June 2021 to re-shape its ethos, naming pro athletes Megan Rapione and Naomi Osaka, actress Priyanka Chopra, photographer Amanda de Cadenet, skier Eileen Gu, and models Adut Akech, Paloma Elsesser, Hailey Bieber, and Valentina Sampaio as board leaders. But Bella's history with VS, beginning with her walking in the annual runway show in 2016 (which has since been discontinued for its lack of diversity and inclusivity), made her reluctant to take the call.

As detailed to Marie Claire on Dec. 2, Bella wanted to be sure that under the leadership of EVP and Head Creative Director Raul Martinez and Casting Director Felicity Webb, women would be uplifted and protocols would be put in place to maintain a safe environment. Bella was one of the many models who came forward to accuse former executive at L Brands (parent company of VS) Ed Razek of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct in 2020. Razek stepped down from his position and denied accusations, leaving a brand devoid of female empowerment in his wake.

"I feel empowered in lingerie, instead of feeling like my body is some sort of money maker."

But VS Collective attracted Bella with a presentation and a contract that says she does not have to do anything she wants to do, or show any part of her body that she does not want to show while modeling. "[We] don't have [that] anywhere else. Not in editorial [shoots], not any other fashion shoots, so it's incredible to see that a lingerie company had even thought about this . . . That's really important for us as women, because sometimes, going into these sets, we do lose our boundaries. And our boundaries are not accepted. So for them to tell us that we do have that power over our bodies and ourselves - and if we don't feel comfortable with something we can speak out - that's super important," Bella said.

Her first foray into the new VS campaigns came in November 2019 with the Mad for Plaid Holiday Collection, and on Dec. 28, she Instagrammed the above photo from set, writing, "❤️‍đŸ”„ @VICTORIASSECRET ❤️‍đŸ”„ The days we have on set are some of the best days I've had …" Bella said that her personal self-love journey through therapy has provided her with the confidence and mental health it takes to really own her body again and re-develop her relationship to beauty, which is something we hope the new VS Collective team will continue to promote - both for its ambassadors and outwardly to the consumer. Bella even teased that she'll eventually be trying her hand at designing. "What lingerie has been to the world is just like, this unattainable, super uncomfortable way to be sexy for your man. What we want to do is really come in, hopefully with another collection that we'll design, [and] have it be really cool and comfortable and fun and sexy," she said. Here's hoping the vibe sticks well into the new year and beyond.

How Many Bags Could Emily Have Possibly Bought in Paris? Anyway, I Want Them All

The handbags in Netflix's Emily in Paris season two are certainly not for the faint of heart. Fashion know-it-alls might be surprised to spot even more designer purses than they did in season one, according to costume designer Marylin Fitoussi, who consults the renowned Patricia Field on the show's wardrobe. "Many brands were responding in a very enthusiastic way to working with us and collaborating with us on this project. That was absolutely not happening in season one. So, we received a lot of things that we never had, like handbags. Everybody wanted to have their handbags showing in season two," Marylin told POPSUGAR.

Among the luxury fashion house staples, such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana, Marylin was also sure to include many smaller Parisian brands. "[Field] gave me carte blanche - complete and total freedom - to choose the designers that I wanted to work with, so I decided to focus on French brands and young French designers as much as I could."

"Everybody wanted to have their handbags showing in season two."

Specifically, she's referencing the maison of Roger Vivier, which provided an incredible number of bags throughout the episodes worn by all the characters. Patou, Longchamp, Carel, and Moynat sent over some of the other totes you'll see (Camille owns the wicker Patou bucket in two different shades, for example, and it's sure to become a hit). You're not wrong to expect that these exact silhouettes mostly come from brand-new collections and cost a pretty penny. But just in case you're not in a place to splurge and still want to get in on the style, we shopped out eye-catching alternatives for you at various other price points. Keep reading for the full rundown.

My Favorite Zara Jeans Are on Sale Right Now - Grab Them While You Still Can

If there's one article of clothing that will always be in style no matter what, it's a great pair of jeans. The right denim can make or break any outfit, which is why finding the perfect pair is so important. I used to think that a great pair of jeans had to come with a hefty price tag, but I recently learned that definitely is not the case. A few years ago, I discovered a pair of Zara jeans I became absolutely obsessed with, and I loved them so much I ended up purchasing them in 3 different washes. While I used to only visit Zara for trendy pieces and the occasional blazer, the brand quickly became my go-to shop for quality denim at an affordable price. I recently discovered a new style that I've been wearing nonstop: Zara's Mom Fit Jeans ($30).

I purchased these jeans in a dark wash, and they meet all of my criteria for the perfect pair of denim. They're high-waisted, they have a straight leg (not too skinny, not too loose), they hit me right at my ankles, and they're affordable. Plus, they're extremely amazing quality. These jeans have spent a ton of time in my washer and dryer, and they look just as good as the day I brought them home. In fact, I would argue that frequent washing and drying has given these jeans the perfect lived-in look that I used to think was only possible with a pair of vintage denim. They're 99% cotton and 1% elastane, so they're sturdy and thick without being too heavy or warm.

I've been wearing these jeans with everything from blazers and loafers to sweaters and sneakers. They also pair perfectly with a fancy top and a pair of heels. I ordered them the weekend before Thanksgiving, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've worn them at least once a week since I got them in the mail. I am typically a size 24 in jeans, but for this pair (and most other Zara jeans I own) I sized up one size.

These jeans are available in a variety of washes, and I just purchased them in two more colorways because they're on sale. If you're looking for the perfect jeans to add to your collection, what are you waiting for? Zara has you covered.

According to Insecure's Costume Designer, "Where's Molly's Top From?" Was the Pregunta of the Night

If you were watching Insecure's finale on Sunday night wondering if (hoping?!) Issa and Lawrence would end up together, you obviously weren't alone; but if the other big pregunta on your mind was where Molly's insane cutout top was from, you were also in good company. According to costume designer Shiona Turini's IGS, that was the question she got asked the most following the final show, because between the drama and the romance, we were admittedly distracted by this bit of sexy fashion.

When the crew threw Issa a surprise birthday party in the last episode, it was a veritable buffet of standout looks with Issa in a khaki minidress, Kelli in a luxe printed jacket, and Quoia in a shimmering layered look; but it was a full stop when we saw Molly in a long-sleeved black top with cutouts across her abs and bust and right over her shoulder. If you too were waiting patiently - or frantically searching the internet - to find the top, we've got you covered. Shiona shared via IGS that the shirt is from Canadian-based designer Sid Neigum, and we have all the details to shop it right here.

Everything They Wore on Insecure's Final Season

With a first look at Issa, Molly, Kelli, and Tiffany's outfits at their college reunion in episode one, Insecure's fifth season would also be a fashion finale with a tour de force of looks. We were treated to a glimpse of the girls' easy takes on denim, a sporty tracksuit and fresh plaid for Issa, and a memorable scene with Molly's Amina Muaddi heels right off the bat, putting style front and center in their story. These covetable yet relatable looks are another testament to the expertise of costume designer Shiona Turini, who took the helm of the show's wardrobe again for the last season.

Between the Nathan-or-Lawrence drama, Shiona's high-low wardrobing was a constant, balancing emerging labels and vintage items with favorites like Telfar. And, while Insecure has always made style a central theme; we venture to say Shiona saved the best for the show's last episodes (just check out that Oscar de la Renta wedding gown for the proof). Read on for a closer look at everything they wore on the final season of Insecure.

Insecure: Molly's Wedding Was a Celebration of New Beginnings and Oscar de la Renta

The epitome of growth. On Dec. 26, Insecure wrapped up its fifth and final season, giving fans closure and characters happy endings in a string of flash-forwards. While the show has been centered around Issa Dee (Issa Rae), it's her group of girls and their professional and personal plot lines that have kept us locked in since 2015, which is why it was so important for the finale to touch on each of them. But we're here to talk about Molly (Yvonne Orji) and Taurean (Leonard Robinson) and their beautiful love story that was complete with a stunning Oscar de la Renta wedding dress.

Fans were ecstatic to see Molly and Taurean tie the knot in a gorgeous European ceremony accompanied by bridesmaids in red dresses, a tear-jerking father-daughter dance, and a beautiful tribute to Molly's late mother. Molly was breathtaking in an Oscar de la Renta fern gown. The strapless embroidered dress featured a sweetheart neckline and a full corset back. And the symbolism of the fern dress did not go unnoticed, as ferns typically embody feelings of new beginnings and hope for the future.

In an Instagram post following the finale, Yvonne gave a shout-out to Molly and Taurean's love story, but also acknowledged that the real full-circle story was between Molly and Issa. "For FIVE seasons, @the_a_prentice told me, 'when Molly finds happiness, the show is over,'" she wrote about a conversation with Insecure show runner Prentice Penny. "Well, he kept his word. @issarae, Molly might have married Taurean, but you will always be her one true love." When Issa helped Molly take off the intricate corset holding up her dress, fans teared up knowing they had been through it all together and have never been stronger. Ahead, check out photos of Molly's radiant Oscar de la Renta fern wedding gown, and get excited for the future of the characters. Now go explore Greece, Molly!

We Like the Things Gabrielle Union Keeps in Mind When Buying a Bikini

Gabrielle Union celebrated the end of the holiday season (and the entry into the new year) sitting poolside in a purple drawstring bikini by Andrea Iyamah. The glow of the sunset in the distance might have been one factor that led us to stop in our tracks, but the design detail is also pretty extraordinary. Featuring a striking cut that frames the bust with underwire and also gives way to ruched cap sleeves, the crop top is immaculate, while the bottom is gathered at the center and comes in a flattering high-rise silhouette.

It's no surprise we noticed - Nigerian designer Andrea Dumebi Iyamah, who is also famous for her striking resort wear, has been churning out pieces that celebrate her African heritage and her own contemporary take on femininity since 2011. You'd be hard-pressed to find another swim label consistently embracing its cultural roots while also maintaining such incredible attention to quality and the brand's DNA. Each swimsuit on the site tells its own story, so much so that it doubles as a work of art.

Gabrielle included album shots of almost every angle, though you might be surprised and excited to find that the MENASA suit, which retails for $210, also comes with a crisscross back. Available in sizes XS-XXL and both Gab's Lilac shade and Vanilla, the look is sort of like that one poolside set you don't already own that you simply must, based on its backstory alone. "Magic Hour đŸȘ„đŸŠ„đŸ§ž‍♀️🌈. 👙by @andreaiyamah #SupportBlackDesigners đŸŽđŸ”„," Gabrielle captioned her photos, reminding her fans and followers that it's also crucial to do research on the labels you're investing in, no matter what. Dua Lipa's Sexy Catsuit Is Reminiscent of Another Plunging Versace Look We All Love

Image Source: Getty / Vittorio Zunino Celotto

Whether it's a skintight catsuit or a plunging neckline, there doesn't seem to be a single fashion risk Dua Lipa is afraid of. And why would she be, when she can pull it all off? On Wednesday, the Versace darling shared a few silly snaps wearing a colorful psychedelic print jumpsuit with the brand's name plastered across the front.

As if the form-fitting silhouette in itself wasn't sexy enough, the piece also came with a deep V that dipped all the way down to her belly button. She posed for the photos with a bright blue Versace La Medusa handbag to match. Upon close observation, the neon-colored catsuit almost feels like a modernized take on Jennifer Lopez's unforgettable jungle print dress at the 2000 Grammys. Check out Dua's full look for yourself ahead and tell us it's not giving you a little deja vu.
