People Are Ditching Their Sweatpants For Bike Shorts, and Honestly, It's Time

We've been seeing everyone and their mother in a matching sweatsuit, and we totally get why; it's the perfect comfy-yet-put-together outfit for being cozy at home. The issue is, temperatures are starting to rise, and we want to capture the same cool, casual look without dripping in sweat. Enter the bike short. It's the perfect lightweight alternative to your cozy sweatpants or leggings, and it looks great with both a tight tank or an oversize t-shirt. From classic black pairs to neon green and soft pink varieties, there truly is something for everyone. Plus, we found a tie-dye pair, because how could we not? The best part is that each one of these options is $90 or less, so they're definitely worth considering. Get ready; you're going to reach for these all summer long.

Tracee Ellis Ross Is a Total Schmoood All Glammed Up in a Swimsuit and Heels in Her Backyard

Tracee Ellis Ross's latest Instagram outfit is a total "schmoood," IMO. After totally crushing the #PillowChallenge wearing neutrals while posing on the windowsill between her beautiful plants, Tracee is back at it with yet another outfit we want to copy. While posing in her backyard, which is full of gorgeous lemon trees, Tracee posted a picture of herself wearing a swimsuit and heels. She captioned the photo, "Sometimes a gal needs a bit of glamour in her life. I mean sheesh," and we couldn't agree more. While a lot of us have been wearing our cozy loungewear for the past few weeks while staying a home, I can totally relate to Tracee's urge to glam up, even if it's just for a bit.

Tracee styled a white one-piece swimsuit that had a sheer keyhole cutout with chunky gold chain-link necklaces and big gold hoops. She also stacked gold bracelets on her wrists for a touch more sparkle. To complete her photo-shoot-ready look, the actress finished strong in a pair of white high heels, because why not? Read on to see the glam look, then shop similar swimsuits if you're feeling inspired by her stay-at-home outfit.

The 1940s Costumes in Hollywood Are So Glamorous, the Actors Wanted to Take Them Home

Ryan Murphy's new limited series Hollywood has finally been released on Netflix, and you probably don't even have to watch the trailer for more than 10 seconds to know you're going to want to soak up the glamorous 1940s fashion in this show. Ryan, who is also the master behind The Politician, brings us eight episodes filled with "what ifs?" It's a spin on reality, forcing viewers to imagine a scenario in which the 1940s Hollywood scene looked very different. But when I spoke to Sarah Evelyn and Lou Eyrich, who collaborated on the show's costume design, I realized just how real their references and mood board actually were.

"1940s clothing is extremely difficult to find and generally really small. When it came to modern body shapes, we'd venture into made-to-order costumes."

"It was definitely based on Golden Age cinema. The idea of gold really sparked the color palette into something we called harvest tones that consisted of golden brown, caramel, pinks, purples, greens, and red. Some particular '40s movie references included Gentleman's Agreement, The Killers, Casablanca, Gilda, The Red Shoes, and Woman of the Year. As we looked at the characters and made the tone board, we developed style icons for each of the characters," Sarah said, also explaining that she and Lou worked closely with the hair and makeup department on each and every look. If Ryan chose a specific hair color for a wig, for example, that would affect their work greatly.

Lou, who is a longtime collaborator and friend of Ryan's, maintains a whole resource of vintage vendors that they'd tap for the 1940s clothing, which Sarah said was extremely difficult to find and generally really small. "When it came to modern body shapes, that's when we'd venture into made-to-order costumes and reproduction (which they relied on for shoes)," Sarah said. "All the characters were such awesome collaborators and were so excited about their wardrobes. We definitely had characters who got attached to their costumes and wanted to take stuff home."

After seeing some of the extremely beautiful looks Lou and Sarah strung together, it's plain to see why that'd be the case. Scroll through to find out more interesting tidbits about each character's unique wardrobe inspiration and read up on the service-station uniform from the first episode, which Lou calls the most memorable from the series. Even though Lou walked away from the show after the first episode to help Ryan on a different project, she consistently checked in on Sarah, and the collaboration came full circle from beginning to end. Considering some of Sarah's last-minute challenges - an added funeral costume, a year change for the Oscars scene - Lou watched from afar. "I was like, 'Are they going to make it?'" she said. Make it, they did.

This $6 White T-Shirt Passed My Very Tough Try-On Test, So Now I'm Buying, Like, 5 More

When it comes to t-shirts, I am so freakin' picky. I have probably purchased at least 50 white tees over the past few years, but only a few pass my series of tests and remain in my dresser. I have several t-shirt requirements:

  • It can't be see through. My bra should not be visible.
  • When I wash it, the quality and fit must stay the same.
  • The sleeves can't be too short or too long.
  • The fit should be stylish, not tacky or outdated.

You see what I mean? Finding a perfect tee is tough. After testing out tons of options as a shopping editor, I have finally found the holy grail of white t-shirts. I picked up this Old Navy EveryWear Slub-Knit Tee ($6, originally $13) on a whim, and now I want to buy, like, five more. This shirt has gone though all the bullet points above and passed with flying colors. It looks great with jeans, skirts, trousers - you name it.

This top comes in sizes XS-XXL and types regular, tall, and petite. I am wearing the regular large, and it fits true to size for reference. The design is tag-free, so there's no annoying itchiness at your neck or side. The fabric is soft and relaxed, but not flimsy or thin. I have washed my t-shirt three times now and it remains in great condition. Is this tee woven with magic or something?

Read on to get all the shopping info on this awesome t-shirt (which has over 1,300 reviews, by the way), then buy it for yourself so we can be obsessed together.

Rihanna Stars in Her New Savage x Fenty Lingerie Campaign - Whew! We Weren't Ready For This

After teaming up with Normani for a dreamy photo shoot that gave us major goddess energy, Rihanna is back for another Savage x Fenty drop with the May Spring/Summer 2020 collection. This time, the 32-year-old musician and designer used herself as a model (not that we're complaining). The campaign shows off the singer modeling a black lingerie look from The Neon Nights Xtra VIP Box, which is curated by Rihanna and exclusively designed by Adam Selman for Savage x Fenty. She accessorized the lingerie with a pair of matching black Amina Muaddi heels.

Like previous collections, the May drop comes in sizes 32A through 42H and XS through 3X. The size-inclusive line includes an array of sultry bras, panties, and slips at reasonable prices ranging from $13 to $105. Besides the sexy black number Rihanna is rocking in the stunning campaign, we particularly love the brightly colored key-lime pieces. These neon pieces are a fun way to refresh your lingerie collection if you're looking to give your underwear drawer a pop of color. Keep reading to see photos of Rihanna looking absolutely unreal in the new collection, then shop some of our favorite pieces from the new collection if you're feeling inspired.

Aldo's Cinderella Glass Slipper Collection Includes Heels For the Evil Stepsisters, Too

There have been so many iconic Cinderella moments in fashion history (remember when Zendaya literally dressed up like the Disney princess for the Met Gala?), but to celebrate the film's 70th anniversary, Aldo is releasing something special. The new collection, which, in full includes heels, little PVC box bags, gemstone-clad barrettes, headbands, and "clock strikes 12" lucite earrings, ranges from $18 to $100. While this means there's a new version of the glass slipper in town, Aldo offers it in two different variations, one clear with rhinestones and the other in a pale blue reminiscent of Cinderella's ballgown. Adorably, both come imprinted with metallic writing on the soles, "If the shoe fits . . . "

But my favorite aspect of this new line has to be the Stepsister, a two-strap mule that comes in pink, clear, and chartreuse, complete with a triangular-shaped stiletto to make that extra bold, sassy statement that aligns with the infamous characters. Trust me, you'd be hard-pressed to find Cinderella-inspired collections with something there for the stepsisters, and I'm so glad that Aldo is finally translating their badass-ery style with a sandal. Read ahead to check out the statement heels in this affordable collection, then shop the rest of the range over at Aldo.

Get Ready, Upper East Siders: The OG Gossip Girl Costume Designer Is Back For the Reboot

HBO Max has been pretty tight-lipped about its forthcoming Gossip Girl reboot, but we just learned a crucial detail that has us even more excited for the eventual debut. The show's original costume designer, Eric Daman, recently confirmed that he's on board for the spinoff, meaning we'll be treated to more head-turning, trendsetting outfits from the genius responsible for Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf's most iconic looks. Eek!

While we secretly hope this entails the return of Blair's signature headbands, Leighton Meester won't be the one wearing them, if they do make a comeback. The Gossip Girl spinoff is essentially a continuation of the OG series and will revolve around a whole new set of Upper East Side teens at Constance Billard School for Girls. What will be the 2020 equivalent of Serena's yellow ruffled bridesmaid dress? How will Eric possibly top Jenny Humphrey's edgy wardrobe? Will there be any sweatpants-over-dress wardrobe malfunctions this time around? You better believe we'll be tuning in, whenever that may be, to find out.
