Selena Gomez Designed a Swimsuit Collection That Captures Her Confidence and Authenticity

Selena Gomez knows what makes a good swimsuit. She's an icon of swim style - has been for many years – and ever since her BFF Theresa Mingus launched her own swimwear brand in 2019, Selena has gotten to take part in the behind-the-scenes creative process, too. Recently, she tried her hand at designing an entire collection for Theresa's La'Mariette. The collaboration features six new styles, two tops, two bottoms, a one-piece, and a sarong, with a pattern inspired by Selena herself.

Selena and La'Mariette aimed to sum up her personality in its "Aura" design. "The Aura print is inspired by Selena, her aura shines through in everything she does, and we want everyone else to feel that sort of transformative feeling of being their most authentic self," said co-founder Morgan Brutocao. "Selena's confidence is unmatched, and being able to design a print with her, which embodies that, is so rewarding." Shop the collaboration ahead.

Where Is Lady Gaga Going in These Fancy Frocks, and Can She Take Us With Her?

While New York City's recent heat wave has prompted most to stay put with their air conditioning on full blast, it looks like Lady Gaga had other ideas in mind. Since touching down in NYC on June 29, the singer has been serving glamorous look after look. She's been spotted walking out of the Plaza Hotel in four (!) different fancy frocks over the past three days, and while she's always incredibly stylish, we can't help but wonder if she's dressed for a certain occasion.

From the puffed sleeves and polkadots to the lace detailing and cat eye glasses, her looks exude old Hollywood glamour. And these chic updos? Gaga looks regal as ever. On June 29, the star stepped out of her hotel wearing a sheer black bustier gown from Alexander McQueen with a flowing cape, and later that day, switched into a fun pink Alessandra Rich polka-dot dress with ruching and ruffles. The next day, Gaga chose a black-and-white floral dress from Giuseppe di Morabito with puffed sleeves and a sexy leg slit. And on Thursday, she wore another polka-dot gown, this time a strapless number in white by Giambattista Valli, with a white Fendi coat draped over her shoulders.

We know Gaga's in town for an MTV Unplugged performance with Tony Bennett at an undisclosed NYC location on Friday, so it's possible she's experimenting with looks before the special. In one photo from Wednesday, Gaga appears to be holding a thick stack of papers, which upon closer examination, looks like sheet music for Bennett's "I Concentrate on You." Perhaps she's getting into character for her performance? On second thought, she could potentially be promoting her upcoming House of Gucci movie. There is a touch of Italian inspiration in these outfits.

But hey, it's 100 percent possible this is just Gaga being Gaga. If anyone is rocking red carpet worthy looks for absolutely no reason, it's our girl. Regardless, I'm grateful for the entertainment as I cool off indoors.

9 Distinct Times Zendaya Paid Tribute to Style Icons and Pop Culture on the Red Carpet

Zendaya's red carpet looks are nothing if not well-researched. The star and her longtime stylist, image architect Law Roach, have crafted countless phenomenal style moments, but in recent years, we've seen the two pay tribute to icons and pop culture fixtures with more frequency. Take, for example, her timely homage to David Bowie at the 2016 Grammys or her Cher moment at the Oscars earlier this year. At the recent BET Awards, Zendaya wore a vintage dress - culled from Law's extensive archives - closely resembling the number Beyoncé wore to perform at the same award show in 2003.

It's become a fun game for those at home, too: mining all the potential references and images that might have inspired her latest look. And, in turn, Zendaya and Law are having just as much fun pulling those references. When asked about which of his clients is the most interested in fashion history, Law told WWD in 2017, "For the most part, Zendaya, because we've been together so long. We share so many references, my inspirations and references become her inspiration and references and vice versa."

To see fashion history repeat itself and be newly made, browse through the many distinct times Zendaya and Law have made their red carpet references plainly clear.

The swimwear line focuses on body positivity and includes an array of swimsuits, cover-ups, dresses, tops, pants, and even matching headwraps.
