Lil Nas X Is the Future of Fashion in a Head-to-Toe Chrome Outfit Ready For the Year 3000

We'd officially like to thank Lil Nas X for identifying a massive chrome hole in our wardrobes. Like a character straight out of his fantasy-packed music video, the "Montero" singer hit the stage at iHeartRadio's 2021 Jingle Ball on Nov. 30 in a head-to-toe silver outfit custom designed by Adolfo Sanchez. The look, made up of a metallic kilt and cropped puffer jacket, was an artistic assembly of chrome panels, leather straps, and buckles that was basically made to to compliment the next dystopian movie protagonist.

"This was so much fun to create and bring to life. @lilnasx is so playful with fashion I had a great time creating all these looks," Adolfo captioned an Instagram post on Dec. 1. "Thank you to my amazing team for all the endless hours and late nights that went into making this happen. 🙏🏼❤️✨."

With a look so frosty, Adolfo couldn't forget the accessories, adorning the kilt with an oversized external pocket and dressing up the cutout sleeves with buckles along the arms to match the cross-body clasp across Lil Nas X's bare chest. The silver manicure, matching grill, and diamond butterfly earrings definitely gave us a taste for all things sparkly, but our favorite part of the outfit had to be the silver combat boots with built-in socks (how convenient!).

As a great undersea robot once said, "Everything is chrome in the future," and Lil Nas X is certainly living his 39th century dream. See his radiant look from all angles - on stage and on the red carpet - here.

These J.Crew Holiday Clothes Are Undeniably Chic, Yet Surprisingly Practical

If You Buy These H&M Pieces, Prepare to Hear Everyone Say, "Wow, You Look Amazing!"

All Hail Rihanna, National Hero of Barbados, and Her Stunning LWD

Newly appointed National Hero of her homeland, Barbados, Rihanna stepped out to accept her honor on Tuesday at the Pride of Nationhood ceremony wearing the kind of outfit that's earned her a lifetime of fashion accolades, too. The singer showed off a chic white dress and coordinating blazer by Maximilian. Putting her signature style on display, this riff on the white suit comes with a fierce pair of lace-up heels and a cool smattering of jewels, including a sparkling choker and earrings.

While the palette may be understated, the silhouette, brings the drama. The exaggerated sleeves and mini hemline, coupled with the choice accessories, make this another one to add to the long list of Rihanna's most memorable looks.

Virgil Was Here: Louis Vuitton Dedicates Its Spring 2022 Show to the Late Fashion Icon

Virgil Abloh is a fashion icon. After founding Off-White in 2012 and becoming Louis Vuitton's artistic director for menswear in 2018, Abloh died from cancer on Sunday, Nov. 28, only a few days before his final show for the brand. To celebrate his life and legacy, Louis Vuitton dedicated its spring/summer 2022 collection to the late designer - including a rainbow-colored statue of Abloh, playful holograms, a star-studded front row, and 82 looks from Abloh's previous and current collection.

Hosted on Miami Beach, Louis Vuitton's "Virgil Was Here" tribute show was attended by Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, North West, Bella Hadid, Joe Jonas, Pharrell, Silvia Venturini Fendi, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Edward Enninful, and LVMH chairman and chief executive officer Bernard Arnault. The designs were modeled by some of Abloh's dearest friends, including rappers Kid Cudi, Offset, and Quavo, with Kanye dedicating a special performance of Adele's "Easy On Me" by his Sunday Service choir ahead of the "Virgil Was Here" show.

"Virgil was not only a friend, great collaborator, creative genius, visionary and disruptor, but also one of the best cultural communicators of our times," said Louis Vuitton chairman and CEO Michael Burke in a press statement. "The show concluded with fireworks and final words from Abloh: "Life is so short that you can't waste a day subscribing to what someone thinks you can do vs. what you CAN do."

Watch Louis Vuitton's "Virgil Was Here" spring/summer 2022 tribute show ahead.

I Found These Boots on Amazon, and I Refuse to Wear Anything Else This Winter

Just like any cinematic romance, it was love at first sight for me and my Dr. Martens Women's 2976 Chelsea Boot with Zips ($150). I remember our meet-cute so well: I was on a work trip before the shelter-in-place order went into effect, and a colleague was sporting the coolest boots I've ever seen. (They were the perfect cross between a chunky combat and a sleek Chelsea boot.) After silently fawning over them for hours, I finally asked my colleague where she bought them. "Amazon! I know, right? I was surprised, too! I'll send you the link." I knew that Amazon was a go-to spot for affordable fashion, but my dream pair of boots? I was sold - and it's been sartorial bliss ever since.

Laugh at my over-the-top account of buying these Dr. Martens Women's 2976 Chelsea Boots with Zips, but you can't deny it is really hard to find a cute pair of boots you want to wear everywhere. Those heeled, suede booties might look good with a maxi dress, but will they hold up if Mother Nature's mood changes? Or, what about those rain boots? Sure, they'll combat inclement weather, but are you actually excited to wear them? (Exactly.)

I've been religiously wearing these boots for two years, and I can confidently say they work for almost every occasion. In fact, the only two places I wouldn't wear these to are a fancy event like a wedding or in the middle of a blizzard. (This pair might hold up nicely in less-than-fabulous weather, but they're not snow boots!)

Made with a gorgeous leather grain, these boots look upscale, but aren't so precious that they'll be ruined at the slightest exposure to rain and snow. The Chelsea boot silhouette looks good with everything from skinny jeans to tights and a skirt; however, the lug sole makes these perfect for trudging through a winter wonderland. (Or, if you're wearing them on a snow-free day, they'll add a tough edge to your outfit. I love to pair these boots with my flouncier dresses.) And, thanks to the roomier toe box, you can totally wear your favorite fuzzy socks with them. (See! You can wear them with anything.) Oh, and did I mention that each side has a zipper? Instead of spending an unnecessary amount of time contorting your body to get in or out of your shoes, you can start your day on the right foot by simply zippering each side.

The catch? At $150, these boots aren't necessarily cheap. However, when you consider just how often you can wear these boots, the cost per wear will go way down. I'm almost positive these boots have paid for themselves five times over. Because, let's be honest: money can't buy you love, but it can certainly give you the hero of your cold-weather wardrobe.
